On the FerryOn the FerryOn the Ferry

Me and Charlotte : )
Well, i thought i'd try and give a quick update even though we've only been gone for one day! Firstly, Belgians seem happy to re-arrange the letters on a keyboard so it's like having to learn how to type all over again!

We left for Dover in the early hours yesterday morning, arriving at Nancy's at around 6.30am (thanks Dad for the lift!) and were soon on our way. Within half an hour we had to pull over on the M20 as the roofrack sounded like it may fall apart, but the problem was quickly solved and before long we got to Dover. The ferry was uneventful, a nice calm crossing coupled with the most disgusting full english breakfast ever which i'm sure is what came back to haunt me last night!

Nancy undertook the challenge of driving on the opposite side of the road first and after a very short detour towards Calais (i was map reading) we were on track, almost immediately out of France and at our first destination - Bruge. Bruge turned out to be very small and it took us a while to stop there as we kept driving through it and out the other side as we looked for somewhere to park. I've got pictures of our stop but haven't worked out how to put them on here yet - google image Bruge and thats what we saw. We didn't stay long as we wanted to set up camp but i'd say if you're old, own a bike and have a lot of money to waste on over expensive chocolate and gifts then this is the place for you. It is NOT the place for trying to drive a large 4x4 through!

After an extremely small coke for 3.5euros we decided we couldn't afford a hostel aswell so drove to a neaby campsite. Dinner was a trip to Lidl's and a Macdonalds! Perhaps we'll eat properly tomorrow. I then had the worst night sleep ever, as i had to go on numerous toilet breaks and even attempted to sleep in the car for a while to avoid waking the others. It was cold in there.
