The Burj
The only 7 Star hotel in the world.. Dubai was nothing that I expected.. The first thing that hit me when I got off the plane was the heat and humidity.. I arrived around two in the afternoon and the temp was already up to 105 F and 90% humidity. I had booked a reasonable hotel before I left Jordan and when I arrived they made me wait an hour before giving me my room, I didn't even say anything and they moved me up to a suite!!!! I have to say it was a nice change from what I had been staying in it was like an apartment. I waited till the evening to venture out to see what I could in walking distance and soon found the Gold Souk. WOW!! There was over 1000 stores selling anything gold you could ever ask for. The next day I met up with a Jacqueline, who is the sister of mom's friend/ coworker. Jacqueline knew all the places to go for blackmarket goods which Dubai is known. We spent the day of running around town and being buzzed in to back rooms to look at knockoff everything. The rest of the time I spent running from one AC building to
the next. Dubai is not for anyone on a budget ther is not to much to do other then shop so I spent most of my time in the movie theater catching up on the movies I had missed over the past months. I did take a city tour of Dubai which was the first time I was able to see a large portion of the city, but most of the things you see on TV and the internet are only for the Rich and Famous so unless I wanted to spend a months budget for an hour heli-tour. Maybe someday!!!
The almost all of my photos are foggy so I didn't add to many (there was a big sand storm not too far away). SO I hope you enjoy..
