The name say it all...Zanzibar...the door to the Indian Ocean...a place of all your dreams...a place you have no
idea what to expect from.

My flights bring me from Grumeti, to Serengeti, to Arusha, and finally to Zanzibar....all this with all my bags.
If you are in Zanzibar with great company, and with a very serious budget, you want to stay on Mnemba Island. The
place hold only 18 people in 9 bungalows, and is run by CC Africa, the same guys who run Singita. The private jets
you see at the aiport...that's the same crowd.

For me, it was the Serena Inn...after all, it is regularly voted in one of top 20 places to stay in Africa by most
publications. The place is amazing, old style, small luxury place on the waterfront in Stone Town. My suite...well...
feel way too big without Ma'ri...but so great nevertheless.

But the aim these few days was to dive...I know, you are going to ask me when all this going to stop...not now...not
soon...Two options from Zanzibar. Dive out of Stone Town, or trip to Mnemba Island atholl each day. I spent my
evening in Stone Town, and dive in Mnemba...just in front of that little romantic place...you know...

There is a sad thing about Zanzibar...the people are smiling and very welcoming, the place is gorgeous...but...but...
nothing is working properly, and the place is a mess. Some travellers would tell you this is the charm, I wish more
efficiency and more dollars would reach the place...to have a little feel of improvment...but you know what...I think
it will simply not happen.

2 days of diving for me. First day average, second day really fun. You don't have the big stuff here...so I
concentrated on all the small stuffs...call it macro, or call it a lot of fishes everywhere...

And the evenings, time for some indian food followed by cigars by the terrace bar at the Serena...and gin tonic...obvioulsy!

My next stop, wait a little for it. Internet was so down in Zanzibar that I'm running a little late on my
pics downloading...but they are coming.

No more diving trip for 6 weeks...yes...only 6 weeks...but in a few days, it's back to the waters...for another dream...
Before that, more fun, more indulgence and some very serious adventure...

Have fun, because I do!
