Tricia getting ready to board
Only two days in London. Not enough. Tricia and I arrived and found our way to the place we would call home for the next two days, an apartment that belonged to our hairdresser/friends' mother (a London native). Our host was back in USA, so we had the place to ourselves. It was in a great location. We had to call her lifelong friend to get the key. Her friend was so friendly and anxious for us to enjoy London. She loves it. She said she was a true Londoner.

We bought the London Pass, which got us into the Tower of London and many other places free. We had a big discount on the passed, thanks to Tricia and if we had paid full price, I am not sure it would be worth it. London has so much to see, like Paris, that we barely touched the surface in the two days we were there. We did get to go to Harrod's, where we had tea and scones (I became addicted to scones during my time in Scotland). We also went to the Tower of London. Now when I watch the Tudors, I actually know some of the places. We took a canal boat ride to Camden Lock. We really liked that area. There were so many shops and great, inexpensive food places. It is THE place to people watch. Our friends' mom also told us to have fish and chips right up the street from our flat. That is where all the cabbies eat. We went and shared a table with, who else? A cabbie 😊 It was the best fish and chips I have ever had and it was pretty inexpensive. We took the tube everywhere. Some of the trains don't go very fast. We also took the bus sometimes. Once we got on one of the old buses. We got to talk to the ticket taker a lot. It was a very fortunate ride. The weather was pretty good. It only rained when we first arrived.

Axe that beheaded Anne Boleyn...

Axe that beheaded Anne Boleyn
Anne Boleyn was executed by a French swordsman as opposed to the usual English axeman. That would mean that this is not the device used for her execution.

She wasn't beheaded by an axe; she was beheaded by a sword, and no block was used.
