Well as you can see from the title... I'm back in Bangkok now, didn't stay as long as I wanted to in Chaing Mai but another plan popped into my head... which I will let you all know about soon enough.

Anyways today I had a busy day, woke up bright and early to go to the floating market just outside Bangkok, it is a cool concept but... was very very touristy and with hundreds of boats all trying to get down a narrow channel we got in a bit of a traffic jam, so I was glad to get back on dry land.

After the floating market we headed to the Tiger Temple, which is a sort of sanctuary for tigers run by monks, they are raised around humans so they behave well.. for the most part anyways. I waited in a long line to see the big tigers, I got to pet a few of them and got some good pictures of me with them. After that I walked up the hill to look around some more of the sanctuary, they had some younger tigers too, about, the first ones I saw were 5 months but still about as big as any dog you can imagine, I thought it would be nice to get some more pictures with some different size tigers, so with the help of the staff I sat next to the tiger and they started to take some pictures... then for some reason the tiger bit my leg! It got mostly my shorts but I have a nice little bruise from it, more of a pinch... but hey... who can say they have been bitten by a tiger before?

And after that we took off to the Bridge over the River Kwai, which I think everyone has heard of... although I must admit I havent seen the movie. I will add that to my list of movies one I am home. Near the bridge was a little WW2 museum which I was very interested to look around in, since we have some family history in that department.

Anyways, tomorrow will be a lazy day for me (nice to have those once in a while) I'll look around Bangkok a bit and probably relax and see that new Batman movie ...(wish you were here to watch it with me Kristi!) although I can see that it's playing next door right now, its amazing how fast they can pirate movies.

hello
Hi Andrew, your grandfather is forwarding your e mails again, nice to hear about your travels. Do not mess with tigers!!! Not much going on here just a lot of hot weather. Going down to see Joel and Leila and kids next week. We really mis our new grandson and I might have to do a fall trip back t0o Seattle and Vancr. Louise had her 94th birthday, so far so good but hates the food where she is. We have not been up to the cabin this year so hope to be able to do that. First trip up is a lot of spider cleanup. Plus, we had two broken pipes and last time did showers in the bathtub but with kitchen water. Trying to get someone to fix this and the deck railing. Well, safe and happy travels. Love Lyn
