Ping Pong tournament, are you sure? I have not even held a ping pong bat in my life! (From someone in finance dept) No, no, I cannot enter, I will be laughed at. (From Revatay of Sales) Do not listen to him, I am not good at all. (From Selina) The last time I played ping pong was during my primary school. (From Chi Wai, the semi-finalist)

Many gave remarks, some positive and a few negative ones when the ping pong tournament was announced. The response was also slow. What would happen if there were only 10 participants by the tournament day?

Soon, the response grew. From Finance - the participation was tremendous with Jace leading the team. From Sales team, Junior Saw led everyone to vie for honours. From Server Team, Yew Tuck was the lone challenger. From LG5, Faith Lim said, 'I will definitely do best to go into 2nd round'. From Mayang Mall, Eng Soon and Chin Pin led the challenge. From SnS PG - Rohayah said, 'We will be there'. JobStreet Ping Pong tournament was definitely ON!!

The day came and everyone went to the venue at GOLD COAST which was booked by Divya.

KL, Watch out.
The first round matches gave a glimpse of what to expect from the players in the 2nd round. Players like Mok, Yew Tuck, Eng Soon, Chin Pin, Yoke Khai, just to name a few stamped their superiority over their opponents. Even players who were thought to be 'easy meat' showed some resistance. Players like Christine, Melor, Revatay, Chang Beng, Selina, Kay, Chiek Mei, Hui Ping, Jace, Jenny Jee, Faith simply would not want to give up without a fight.

From the quarter final onwards, every match was like a final match. Chia Lih tried but was no match for Chi Wai's 'turning' serves. Pre-tournament favourite Yoke Khai was eliminated by Mok. Junior Saw with his 'end to end' serve could not beat Yew Tuck. Eng Soon meanwhile found the goings tough and lost to Chin Pin.

The semi-final saw a titanic battle between four champions. After a very long resistance, Chi Wai gave way to Mok. Yew Tuck too found Chin Pin too hot to handle.

For the final, everyone was glued to the match. It was like an Olympic match. Mok and Chin Pin fought for every point and no one knew who the winner was
Wow....Wow....Wow....

A good one
until the very end. The champion for this edition is Mok Tong Meng, representing Finance! Congratulations.

JobStreet.com KL shall prevail
It seems like Jobstreet PG has the stuff nonetheless KL has its own special breed. We are talking about over achievers like Jack the smasher, Gaius the curve baller, Jonathan the speedy Gonzales, Josephine the crouching tigress, Tat Yong the mentalist, Simon the tall serve, Sun with extra shiny serve, Seh Wai the shy killer, Eric the Maverick, and of course me David the goliath. Just to name a few….. Of course you have already tasted some KL breed like Wee Khang, according to him; he was in shackles waiting to release his wrath. So beware, this ultimate fight should be hot and sweaty (because no aircon). We will be ready!!!
