It's my fourth day back. I really miss Salamanca. I'm actually doing a lot better here than I thought I would. I envisioned myself dropping into depression. There's just so much to do that I haven't really had a lot of time to be depressed. I'm soaking in all of the privilidges that we have here, as Americans. The smallest things are exciting. Baked Lays at Quizno's really made my day; Eating good steak with real mashed potatoes; Cereal... Cap'n Crunch. Of course it was good to see my friends, family, and my Bailey girl.
I've only received emails from a few of the people from our group. I'm wondering how they're handling things. Some of our group isn't back yet. I'll be happy to see everyone again.
For Christmas I'll be flying down to L.A. to visit some family. I had originally planned to stay in San Jose with my dad, but my grandma told me that I was expected down there, so what could I do? You can't argue with a 79 year old Japanese lady about some things. In February, I'll be heading out to Vegas for a weekend for a girlfriend's birthday. Somehow, I don't feel that these upcoming trips will satisfy my bug.
Hopefully next year, I'll be able to return to Europe to visit all the wonderful people that I was lucky enough to get to know. Until my next adventures, I'll be busy with school and work, and I will do as I did before I left and lose myself in other's travel journals.
