Well we are here now! Thanks to Rose and Nick Buckley for the ride to the station in HK. It calmed me down and was a nice way to go. The train journey was better than any of us thought. We were a bit worried when we saw the 6 bunks but we then got redirected to the 4 berth cabins and made ourselves at home. The time passes really slowly and quickly at the same time! We've read, played cards and the fave so far Yahtzee! Good old Ailsa getting us that one by winning bingo in HK!! The food on the train was fine - at least the chicken was. The less said about the interesting barbecued duck the better!!!
We're in luxury at The Renaissance Hotel just now but I bet we're the only guests drying underwear with a hair dryer. Ailsa confessed that she's dragging her portable DVD player around. This wouldn't be so bad if she'd fessed up before we left - we might have bought DVDs with us!!!!!
All chargers are going in the room just now - travelling with the Hart girls involves a ridiculous amount of electronics!!!
Well off to look at the Bird's Nest Stadium, stock up on real grub (we were actually jealous of a woman with a can of sweetcorn for goodness sake!) and get an early night. Leave about 6am for the station. Zai jian from Beijing.

Travelling Light
Hi Sis - good to hear you've got the esentials with you. Can I ask why you're drying your knickers with a hair dryer when there is a perfectly good laundry service available? Is that some good old Scottish thrift coming out?? Pope's in town here and said to wish you all the best (well it was in Latin so I think that was what he said). Love to all. Ally
