Last night in Vegas :-(
We woke late on our second day in Vegas (hurrah we are now all past our jet lag at last). After a leisurely start we headed off on the bus to the Las Vegas Outlet Centre to buy a suitcase. We’d always thought that we would need to buy another case but not that we’d need it this soon. It appears that although our three suitcases were ok weight wise for the BA flights they were too heavy for the United Airlines flights. Luckily the nice lady at the Denver UA desk let us fly without charging us for overweight baggage but we didn’t think we’d get away with it again.
We had a short mosey around the Mall visiting all the luggage shops as well as the kids buying themselves outfits from the Nike store. The best store in the whole place though was an outlet punk clothes store - fantastic - we need more of those.
We even managed a healthy lunch, falafel, humous and salad stuffed pitta bread. Healthy fast food in America seems to be few and far between. Especially if you drop half of it down your trousers!
One new suitcase later we headed back to the hotel . The kids had been promised a trip to the pool so it was a quick change and an hour down at the pool complex.
A quick change and we headed out to find some tea before arriving at the Monte Carlo Casino and Hotel for the Lance Burton Magic Show. We had balcony seats that had a good view except when Mr Burton headed off into the audience (which was only occasionally). The kids absolutely loved this show jumping up from their seats and clapping really loudly throughout.
Whilst the magician was taking a break a juggler came on stage who was extremely funny setting the woman sitting next to Annabel off into such fits of laughter that made us wonder if she might eventually have a little accident in her underwear!
Needless to say the show was brilliant, completely baffling all of us as to how most of the tricks were done.
On the way back to the Excalibur we stopped at New York, New York for Ellie and Mark to ride the roller coaster , Ellie thought it was “amazing, we went sideways and then twisted round whilst we were sideways ”. So on this high note ended our last night in Vegas.
