| 26th August 2008 Greg | Cops might not be so friendly next time! - From: Windy, wet and whales Deputy minister of safety and security Susan Shabangu said "The police cannot calmly talk to criminals who shoot at them or wait until a police officer dies before reacting," she said. "I want to assure the police station commissioners and policemen and women from these areas that they have permission to kill these criminals. I won't tolerate any pathetic excuses for you not being able to deal with crime. You have been given guns, now use them. I want no warning shots. You have one shot and it must be a kill shot. If you miss, the criminals will go for the kill. They don't miss. We can't take this chance. "Criminals are hell-bent on undermining the law and they must now be dealt with. If criminals dare to threaten the police or the livelihood or lives of innocent men, women and children, they must be killed. End of story. There are to be no negotiations with criminals. Not that you're criminals of course but it is unwise to push their goodwill too far! Ciao |
| 21st August 2008 Freedmans | Jet-lag advantage - From: Flirting Nocturnal Felines It sounds like a good thing you're holding onto the jetlag for all these late night/early morning adventures! WOW! It all sounds like quite an epic animal fest. We've been seeing weird Australian animals but no late night romps. :-) Hope everyone is getting healthy. |
| 19th August 2008 The Lowe(s) | Stress! - From: The convoluted path to Perth Sorry to gloat but it's nice to know you had a little stress to balance up all that fantastic relaxing in Fiji. As for us - well now let me see - Late for boys football today, Steven has a sleepover friend for 3 nights, office computer's breaking down hourly, no hot water at work, too much work to cope with while everyone else is on holiday, no milk, forget to pay phone bill, need oil tank filling, working till 10.00pm every night this week, school shoes, school uniform and schools fees to fit, find and pay for, chipped my nail polish, failed my public law exam, no petrol in car, oh yes and it's raining again! Whats the odd cancelled flight? oh and I nearly forgot school name tapes to sew on "everything" and my hair is falling out! Seriously though hope your journey continues smoothly. It was great to get another post card today - thanks. Fiji really did look and sound idylic. We did manage to find about 2 hours worth of sunshine in St Ives last week and paid a damp visit to Flambards curtesy of tesco vouchers. Mum is fine, Lynne and her friend Sue are staying there this week, Clive and his Mum have taken Matty to East Grinstead. I think Ed & co are visiting her for the bank holiday - Poor Marjorie -you don't see any family for months on end then just like the buses they all turn up at once! Sure you are all looking forward to S Africa - can' t wait to read more. Keep safe Love S B & S xxx |

| 6th August 2008 Debby | Dog Food Smell - From: And they're off... I've been reading your blog and was amused by your story of the dog food smell on I-70. I've lived in Denver for 16 years and I've never gotten used to the smell either! The dog food factory was built there way back when there was no I-70 and very little else in that spot. The city grew around it. I personally wish they would move it to a land far, far away. The good news is, the smell doesn't travel that far. Thanks for stopping by our wonderful state! |
| 6th August 2008 the Lowe Family (well Sally actually!) | Jealousy is such a terrible thing! - From: Relaxez-vous Wow this looks fab. I am afraid it is only me keeping up to date with your trip as our home dial up is too slow for boys to be bothered and actually Steven is away in Minehead on Scout Camp this week. At time of typing this 2.15pm Weds 6th the sun is almost shining but most of week has been grim and wet! Looking at your fab beach photos makes me very envious wish I was there. Ta for post card arrived yesterday and been added to collection I don't think I have any from Fiji! I am managing (just about) to keep track of you but had to do a fews days catch up all in one go today which left me feeling quite exhausted and now quite depressed. Think of us doomed to just a couple of nights in Roche for our Summer Holiday this year (still at least we will get home cookin!!!!!!! ha ha!!!!!!) Next week we do also have a trip to London planned - one for the boys really as it involves a visit to chelsea fc's "free" open day! Great Blogs keep em coming and love to you all xxx |

| 19th July 2008 Jessie | A message from Jessie - From: Windy and Chilly in San Francisco Hello everybody, you seem to be having a wonderful holiday in USA. I am enjoying myself too. I spend most of my days asleep on the settee or watching the world through the window from the back of the armchair. There is an interesting garden to explore but I have to be careful of large wheelbarrows suddenly coming round corners, they startle me and I run away. Go on enjoying your holiday. Happy Birthday to young Master Jack. Love Jessie |
