Hiya all from Bangkok!

Got here safely, the flight was so posh! We got free slippers! Hehe. Plus it was all inclusive so free drinks,. whatever you want, good way to start the holiday! Met everybody at the airport and all seem to be really nice. Nearly missed the flight as we all went to agte 3, wjen it should ahve been gate 31. Heathrow being as big as it is, it was about a 2 mile run to the terminal, we got there just as it was boarding hehe.

The hotel is lovely, nice and air conditioned, but cant get to used to it as am sure there wont be any air con in the eco houses. Am not quite sure of the noodles and rice for breakfast tho (as we also have it for dinner and tea)!!! Can't complain about the prices though when beef in black bean sauce with rice cost me 2 pound!

Went on a boat trip this morning with all the other people which was great, but a mjor culture shock! Pretty scary getting in due to the pier wobbling and the boats about a 2 foot jump on below. One step wronmg and your swimming with the monitor lizards (think thats how its spelt, mini crocodiles anyway!). Was so strange seeing the temples and huge mansions alongside the shanty towns. There is such a large slpit between the richj and the poor! The boat took us to a floating market which was really interesting and a orchid farm which was beautiful. Mum would be in her element! Huge orchids for under a pound, compared to however much in Marks!

From here we got a taxi, 2 pound for half an hours ride, to the weekend market. When my guide book said big, I think it meant to say massive! 3 floors, the size of football pitches of market stalls, luckily air conditioned! It was like heaven, the stuff was so cheap, beats Meadowhall by a mile! Got tops, bags, jewellery, things for my classroom, presents etc and it came to below 25 pound for everything. Its like Christmas! Don't know how I will get it all back though as my case was dead on the limit coming here!

Forgot to bring my camera tonight but will add pics in a couple of days.

All I can say is amazing! A great place with great people and the buckets of vodka and coke for under a pound can't be complained at !!!!

Going to Singbuir to the eco house tommorow so will post again sometime during the week. Anyway just going for ANOTHER drink!

xxxxx

P.S- Dan, Danny and Simon I have seen no lady boys! But ahve been hassled by men to go into the ping pong, I have to say that I have so far resisted!!!!!
