I attempt to get artsy in the Akureyri garden. This city park contains every plant native to Iceland, as well as many from abroad.

Getting up in the middle of the night to pee, Canada: grab a headlamp. Iceland: grab your sunglasses! Shocking!

Godafoss is in the background, this is just a little fall nearby. I like the photo thoguh.

We could call it 'Triagra' falls! Ha! Ha!

Rainbow!

I like being able to take in the view of the falls from both sides of the river. Godafoss got it´s name when, in 1100ish, one of the chieftains of the country threw his pagan idols into the falls and decided that the entire island should adopt Christianity.

By lake Myvatn. These really cool cracks were loads of fun to climb around in, like a giant 3-D maze!

Near Myvatn. Myvatn literally means 'midge water' (Midgewater Marshes, near Bree? Watch out for Black Riders, Mr. Frodo!), but is translated as midge lake. The midges certianly complied, and would happily fly into pretty much everywhere and anywhere. Gah! That´s MY eye, you silly fly! At least they didn´t bite. Uh... oh yeah, massive cool cracks in the earth.

This is fantastic! I love the pictures! And of course, I am quite glad you were able to find some cookies. I am truly amazed at how light it still was at almost 1am. How crazy! ^_^
