Saturday, June 21, 2008 It took us about an hour to reach Niagara Falls and Wow was it busy! Before we ever laid our eyes on the waterfalls though, we were in awe of the Vegas like attractions and atmosphere that lined the streets. The falls may be the attraction, but the real destination seems to be the town...it's out of control! And that's just the buildings. Different languages, clothing, colors - there are more cultures here than Disneyland!
We heard that the Niagara region is great for wineries, and we did our own local wine tasting; it just happened to be last night's wine sipped out of a Dasani water bottle. Yeah, we know, we're classy. We found a nearby place to park and walked down to the falls. They certainly were a spectacular sight to see. It was a photo frenzy; a desire to capture pictures from all angles. We walked from one end of the falls down to the other and snapped tons of pretty pictures. One of the best pictures even caught a beautiful rainbow in front of the waterfall! Not too much more to say about Niagara Falls...the pictures speak for themselves.
No longer
striving to eat healthy after a long day of running and walking, we split a whole pizza and picniced just above the falls then headed back home to Michigan. The four hour journey home concluded with a 1am city of Detroit tour guided by Rob. There's nothing like inner city Detroit at one am on a Saturday night - doors locked.
