You only live once! Sounds like you are having a great time! Have you expended all of the music on your IPods yet? and are you getting pretty sick of the same car games? I hope that you have a good time touring the west coast and sure that you will find some more entertaining and overpriced places to see on the way but what the hell, you only are going to do this once! Have a great trip to Northern Cal or where ever you are going!

I'm and idiot! 1. This is proof that I check your blog!
2. I'm and idiot because I really could not figure out how to post a comment!
and
3. Come back to Michigan!!
Yes, Jen should have been a model! Fantastic pictures. You have now saved me the $15 should I ever be in that part of the country. This was kind of like our trip to Oahu for spring break. Jay really wanted to go to Pearl Harbor, but I told him I saw it on the Brady Bunch. In the end, I was glad that we spent the better part of the day (yes, that is how long it took because in my effort to be "green", I made us take the bus!) going to see it as it was very moving. While you both are exploring new sites, I have been teaching an SEI class and getting my room ready for August 11. Somehow I don't think I am having quite as much fun. Off to do some tedious errands and hit the gym. Are you headed to the Pacific Coast yet? I am really excited to see those pictures!. They have a bunch of wineries in Oregon, so you could probably do some more free drinking!
You've returned!! I missed you guys!!! I think I have mentioned more then once that you are my summer entertainment. Rob, what a pretty travel companion you have. Jen, you look beautiful in every picture. Maybe this road trip and sleeping outside agrees with you and might consider ditching your teaching career for modeling! I am not sure where you are headed next, but I can't wait to hear where you will be sleeping next. The porch has got to be my favorite story so far. You mentioned Dave Matthews - are you going in August?? I will sign off, but don't wait so long to update your blog! Drive safely... One more thought...why isn't there a spell check on this blog? I have to read and re-read. Please excuse any spelling errors or type-o's!!
Bugs? Well Jen I never much pegged you for the camping type but here you are sleeping with the bugs on a very regular basis! I also think that it is great to get out of your comfort zone, unfortunately mine requires running water and a toilet! Just kidding I think that you guys are having the time of your lives and this is something that you will remember forever! Any plans for the 4th?
I love the pictures and cannot wait to hear about the weekend with the parents! Talk to you soon.

Michigan..Home of Kid Rock This is my major association with Michigan. " I live out in the woods now. It helps me keep my feet on the ground." (Jen, I think you might know that I am a HUGE Kid Rock fan.) Living out in the woods would not help me keep my feet on the ground, but to each his own. Jay and I were driving through Wickenburg yesterday and there was a Tastee Freeze. I specifically stated I can not live in a town with a Tastee Freeze. I would need to be medicated. Anyway, I did once go camping in Michigan on the beach. There was a bathroom with electricity. This was the best camping trip ever - laying out by the beach. Unfortunatley, the trip was cut short because of my nasty sunburn. I am happy to see that you are getting enough alcohol, and some free alcohol nonetheless! These pictures are great. I feel like I am living through you both, but in the comfort of my own home! I wish I was more on the rugged side and could rough it. My dad went on this hunting trip to Alaska and each of the three guys was flown in individaully and left there in a bare bones cabin for a week. My dad told me it was the best expereince of his life - like living in the 1800's. He said I should try it. I guess he didn't realize that I was born in the time I was for a reason!! Okay, I will stop boring you both with my stories. I am acutally off to school to work in my room. Want it done so I don't have to be there when everyone else is running around in a month. Get back to your picture taking and adventure. I am awaiting your next entry! Hugs, Jen
Wow - Whorlwind Month Looks like you two are still smiling! Was fun to hear about some of the adventure -- Ellie is going to be catching up soon, she had some internet issues but think we have those resolved. You'll have to meet her birthday present when you get home. Keep smiling and have a great time........xoxo
Home Sweet Home I see you made it to my old neck of the woods. I told you the Falls are a site to see! It's funny I lived there for 19 yrs and it was only a 30 minute trip to the Falls yet I find it more interesting now that I am not near it. I guess that's the way it goes. Glad you go to see one of the natural wonders of the world.
P.S. What you saw was the falls only running at 20%. Once a year they open them up at full blast.
my home!! I can't believe I didn't know you guys were going to the falls....so cool...Did you make it to Buffalo?? I could have hooked you all up with some free beds and food!!! Well I hope you enjoyed Canada, I know I miss it.
Love reading your blogs...keep em coming!!
Fallin' for the Falls!! wow, wow, wow! what an amazing sight to see...now I definitely have my mind set on going to Niagara Falls!...so--when are you heading to my side of town in LA?! : )
Very Entertaining! It was so good to hear your voice last night. As I mentioned, I completely forgot that your cell phone was "down." Here it is 11:47 am and I've got oodles of work to do, but can't resist catching up on the blog. Your captions under the pics make me chuckle and I love your daily descriptions. Both of you could be writers! Will you be able to print this thing out once your trip is complete? What an amazing memory to have!
So very brave! Seriously, you guys are really adventure seekers! It looks like you are having an amazing time! What amazing memories you are creating. Your blog is so neat. Super fun to read. I'm so glad you guys are having so much fun. We all miss you and can't wait to see you! Where else are you going and when are you coming home?
Looks like a blast... Sorry this is the first comment I have left...I have been reading all your blogs though and I am quite impressed that you even figured this stuff out. You guys look like you are having a blast...Can't wait for you all to come back and tell us more (the unwritten stories) and show us some more pictures!! Have fun and safe travels...
Weather!!! I am worried about you two and the driving. I know how bad the weather is because I have family in the midwest and it was mentioned on nationally syndicated television, so it is bad. Please be careful and pull over when they (they being the national weather service) tell you to. I am glad that you had fun in Denver, and appreciate the comments from Rob because if I know Jen, her first priority is probably not discussing the "bisque" and or the cooking that is involved with it so it was nice to hear the point of view from Rob in the blog, but I still love your comments too Jen!! Arizona misses you but it is the same old! I am glad to hear that you are having fun.
Altitude SUCKS!! I cannot even believe that you crazies ran a race in that kind of altitude!!! I was in Colorado Springs last summer and passed out from the sheer shock of it all! And I used to live there!! I really think that what you are doing is so amazing and apparently priceline is the way to go! Have you checked out any Hostels yet? Let me know when that happens because honestly it has got to be better than a tent! I am glad that you are enjoying Denver and have fun and go to elitches or something. I think that if you save a pop can or something you can get in pretty cheap. Granted it has been about 10 years since I have gone so things have changed. Have fun talk to you soon!
Chicago or Bust! Hey guys! You took a while for this one. I was starting to go through withdrawals. I bet the weather in Denver is wonderful right now. It's supposed to get to 110 by Sunday here. I know, but it's a dry heat!!
You guys be careful driving that far all at once. Pull over if you get too tired. I know, I worry too much. I look forward to the next entry. Miss you!
Our FUN Nite! O my goodness what a great nite we had. Those pic's are awesome. Stefan and I laughed for a couple of min's. I forgot about some of the pics we took. Anyway talk to you guys real soon. Have fun.
Hi Hey you two? It was great seeing both of you. We had a blast. Sat. was lots of fun. And we were so happy to be able to have dinner with you on Tues. Hopefully you come back this way on the way home. You know you can always stay with us. Keep in touch. Were is the new blog
Hey guys, Sharon and I just got back from italy a coule of days ago, and this is the first time I have been able to check out your trip blog. I'm pretty impressed! The trip sounds like quite an adventure. Hope you guys are having fun and staying safe. Check the doors at night. Several times. : )
Awesome pics! Great idea with the blog! I've read all and enjoyed all the great pics! You've already been to some truly beautiful places. Glad to see that you guys are not roughing it too hard - still getting proper hydration at the local pubs and catching the important Red Wings games! Rob - so funny that you just casually run a half marathon in the mountains!! Very inspiring for your 7 month prego sister. We're looking forward to continuing to read your blog and seeing you in Michigan in early July. Drew will be excited to see Uncle Rob! Stay safe and let us know if you need anything! Love, Bev.
Jay thinks your road trip would be fun for us to do one summer. First, in order to do that, he's need to go into teaching so he'd have plenty of time off. He said he'd actually consider getting his post-bac to teach. I spend all my time trying to get out. I seriously have to say I miss Ingleside. Anyway, a road trip for us would also require staying in hotels. I saw these cocktail napkins this weekend and they had this lady laying in bed and they said, "I love NOT camping." Thought of you both. I have to hand it to both of you - sleeping out in the cold is pretty brave. Below 70 degreess and I am freezing! Jen, glad to hear that you got your shopping fix in! Which book are you reading on your drive? You could tape yourself and sell it as a book on tape to make extra cash while on the road. Congrats on the marathon. Enjoy the family, not to mention the free food and lodging!
Wow! I wish I was there with you, seeing all the beautiful sites that you are seeing. Really, you guys are doing what most of us wish we could be doing. Kudos to you both! You are truly living in the moment....mmmmmmmmmm, wonder if I could take a leave from my job.......anyway, the pictures are magnificent and it's so fun being able to share this adventure with you both. Be safe!

So far so beautiful... Looks like you guys are hitting up some really nice places. The blog is a great way for all of us to see where you have been. Have fun and safe travels.
Relaxing The spa looked Amazing!!! It must have been SO refreshing. If you ever go back feel free to invite me. Lol haha. It's great reading this!!!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 Love you,
~Ellie~
School is out, the price of gas is soaring, and it may be a long time before we get a chance to do it again...we're roadtripping. 60 days on the road - the entire month of June and July; the plan from Phoenix takes us north and east from Telluride to St. Louis, Chicago to Ann Arbor, Toronto to Vancouver, and Seattle down to L.A, with many stops along the way. We're blogging to keep our friends and family up-to-date with our daily experiences and travels. Enjoy!... full info
