We ditched the monsoon rains on the west coast of Thailand and headed to an island of the east coast called Koh Samui. The island is beautiful and everybody knows it, so there are many expensive resorts and restaurants all over the place. We found ourselves a nice little hut again. Not right on the beach this time, but certainly close enough.

The first day and half it rained a bit (seems we can't escape it), so we rented a moped and explored the island. People drive like crazy here! No amount of persuasion could convince me to drive my own, so I just held on tight from the back of the bike. When the sun finally did come out, we naturally hit the beach. It's gorgeous - white sand, bright blue waters.

Everything is expensive on the island relative to the rest of Thailand. Prices on food and such are triple what they would be on the mainland. We discovered the most fantastic, cheap way to eat - cup of noodles. Every 7-11 has Thai cup of noodles (which are better than the ones in the states - much spicier here), and hot water available. There is even a fork included in the cup. After the noodles, we'd stop by one of the "pancake" vendors on the street and order a banana crepe with chocolate. YUM.

We went in search of several view points on the island but never actually came across the ones listed on the map. The roads were horrible in the hills and we couldn't get to them (well, Brad would have kept going, but I was sure injury or death would follow )
