Hamilton Island

Hi Guys
Have just driven 2,400 kms in the last 5 days. Drove to Airlie Beach to meet Jessie and stay with her on Hamilton Island. Spent a night in Charters Towers on the way and met Jess on her 19th Birthday. So great to see her. The ferry trip out to the island is amazing scenery. Arrived at the Hamilton Island Marina and was waiting to collect my bag when a very rude person crashed into me. I was just about to say what I thought, looked up and It was Jake. He, Ben and Kim flew up to surprise me. So, we had a great party for Jess.

We stayed in the Whitsunday Resort, which was extremely hard to take, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, beautiful pools and spas, so awful. We walked the entire island in 3 days and drank in every bar in 4 days. The boys flew home and Jess and I went on a half day snorkelling trip which was mad. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. It was a really nice day.

We have booked a bareboat Yaght in August for a week, Can't wait!

Up early Monday morning and set of back to Westwaqrd Ho. Hate saying goodbye to the kids.
Caught the 7.15 ferry and was on the road by 8.

Met Ben and Chris Fletcher in Woodstock for a chat and a cuppa. So strange seeing our next door neighbours from Bridgetown in the middle of whoop-whoop.
Arrived in Winton 6pm. Big day, topped off with a speeding ticket. That sucks!
Back in the desert now at Westward Ho and have relieved Kris from his temporary Home Tutor position.
He was out of that school room as quick as he could.

Tomorrow we are driving to Coorabulka Station, 110kms west , for a school of the air activity day for all the kids in our area, about 300square kms.

Whitsunday here I come
My god Chris, looks as though you belong at that resort... surprised you returned to the desert!!! Great to chat last night. this is Olivia ....Hello Kassidy, where are you? what are you doing? Today I had a runnning race at school and my friend Jenny ran as well. I scored 10 points for winning.... my daddy is in Onslow. I made a book and drew pictures of a nest sitting in a tree with no birds,,,, and a tea cup with a duck and a butterfly. where are you going after Westward Ho? see you Love Olivia oxoxoxoxoxox Went to see Sex and the City Friday night bit ordinary but a few laughs ... I never watched the TV series... would have to be better than the movie!! bit of a chick flick! Will is bored out of his nut, now playing scrabble with Max... lots of arguing as Max can't spell and makes up words!!!! This is fun, hope to hear from you soon love Gab
