What a great weekend! We had Jess and Jake with us too, which made it even better. We camped at the race grounds along with 5000 others people, everyone had campfires and it was a great atmosphere. Time is going by quickly and already it is the middle of July. We have visited Coorabulka Station for a school of the air activity day. Coorabulka is 120kms west of us and Unbelivable the manager worked with Kris 25 years ago. Jim and Fiona and thier 3 kids stayed with us at Westward Ho for a few days on thier way through to Willeroo Stn in N.T. Hi Guys Have just driven 2,400 kms in the last 5 days. Drove to Airlie Beach to meet Jessie and stay with her on Hamilton Island. Spent a night in Charters Towers on the way and met Jess on her 19th Birthday. So great to see her. The ferry trip out to the island is amazing scenery. Well, I have turned the big 40 and yes I did have a little cry about that. Not ready to be forty, where did those thirties go!Anyway, life goes on and now I'm 40 and one week old. We spent my birthday mustering, draughting and branding over 1000 head of cattle at Cannington Station, 170 kms east of Westward Ho. Not exactly what I had planned. We have settled in here at Westward Ho. The girls have started school of the air, Mt Isa this week and have grasped the concept really well, not sure if the home tutor gets it all yet. The weather is still sunny, dry and dusty with beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Speaking of sunrise, we are all up at daylight tomorrow to muster Dribbling Bore paddock. The girls are keen motorbike riders now and will be joining the muster tomorrow. We went to the Qantas museum in Longreach Where we got to go in an old 60-70s plane there was first class and your alLowed to smoke Yuk!!!!! it is one of the first planes named after bunbUry.We left longreach to go to Winton.There we went to the Waltzing Matilda center and saw some dinosawr bones they dug up there in Winton (a whole body no missing peices).We left winton and headed straight to Boulia.Now we are working so much with the cows, shifting them, yarding them putting them on trucks.I got to nuRse a baby cow for 2 hours in [View Full Entry]

Drove off the Ship and Headed up the Coastline of Victoria, had a bit of a drive and arrived at midnight in Johnsonville at my god parents house. Thank goodness we were there for a couple of days as the weather was extremely hot. Their house is on the banks of the Tambo River, a very beautiful place. Thanks Merlyn and Bruce for having us. Hey guys We stayed in the Huon Valley with some friends we made at Fortesque Bay. Mum went with Lisa to the taste of Houn festival. We went to Beauty Point and visited Platypus world and Seahorse world. Did you know that a platypuses eggs are at least a centimeter and that seahorses suck their food through their mouth cause they cant open it. We got on the Spirit of Tasmania and yelled out.... From lake St Clair we went to Mt field national park.There we went on a walk and saw more trees and water falls.I met some japanese people and spoke to them in Japanese.We made a wallaby friend that we could pat we named him skipper.Next we went to StrathGordon and saw a big really big dam wall.At the dam wall we saw people abseiling (the biggest free abseiling in the world).We did the creepy crawley walk in the rain forest. What a great way to arrive in Tassie, on board the Spirit of Tasmania. An exciting adventure for the girls especially as we were upat 5.30am down to Port Melbourne to board the ship. There were plenty of activities provided to entertain us for 10 hours, we managed to get in a couple of drinks in one of the many bars! Spent the night in Devonport then found a great campsite in the little seaside town of Penguin. We were camped right on the beach and stayed for three nights.
