So we've switched it up a bit and I (Nina) am going to write about Day 6 too. We're a couple of days behind in our blogging, as we've been away from our computer for a few days (more to come in the next blog), and I've got some extra time on my hands, so I thought I'd give it a go!

I really don't know what to say about Day 6 Thailand except for "ZIP LINING!!!!"

It was QUITE the event!!!! Jeff and I woke up for a 7:45 am pick up. We enjoyed a great breakfast at our hotel with the most amazing chicken fried rice..mmmmm! We got in the van with a wonderful family from Sonoma, CA (They were so cool that when Jeff saw the kids, he said "Can WE get 3 too?") and 2 girls from Germany who were here to study Thai Boxing. We drove for about 45 minutes up the mountain to reach what they call here "Flight of the Gibbons." We were asked to sign a release form (it wasn't until we were half way through the course that we found out that this business had only been going for 5 months!!!) We were harnessed in and given a quick safety class. Basically, we were always safe. If we weren't attached to the zip line, we were attached to a secure chain around the tree. It was INCREDIBLE. We were pretty much like monkeys flying from tree to tree. There were 11 lines and 3 repels in all.

Jeff and I went in a group of 9. There were three guides, a couple from San Diego, and a man who works as a golf pro here in Thailand, who was there with a Thai friend of his. There's no real way to really grasp what we were doing until you check out our pictures. It was amazing!!!!

After zip lining, we returned to have a few beers and eat our inclusive meal at the camp base. We took a quick hike to a waterfall, and then headed back into Chiang Mai.

When we arrived at our hotel, Jeff and I decided to take a few minutes to go sit by the pool!! We ordered a few margaritas, and waited to be picked up by our tailor, who we had ordered custom clothes from 2 days before.

On our way to the tailor, we picked up Leslie and Matt...our new friends from San Diego who we met zip lining. We stopped at a 7-Eleven to pick up a bottle of Thai whiskey...That's right....we brought booze with us to the tailor (please don't tell our mothers!!)

At the tailor we tried on what they had been working on, and changed what we didn't like, etc etc. It was a great experience (and with the whiskey added in we might have bought a few more things while there. WHOOPS!)

We headed to a new restaurant in Chiang Mai after we were done with the tailor. We had asked for a place with authentic thai food and no tourists. It turns out that the only people we saw in the restaurant had blonde hair and blue eyes, and that most of their food was authentic "western" food. Oh well! Anyway, it was cheaper than most touristy places and had a great view.

Jeff and I headed to the night market in Chiang Mai to do a bit of exploring before heading home to our hotel. It was such a fun, adrenaline filled day! This trip really is the experience of a lifetime!!!

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Love,
Nina (and Jeff)
