Our first night in Bangkok! Very plain rooms, but one of the cleanest we've had haha.
Hello Fans, or should I say grandma haha (I think you are my only reader). Well lots has happened since Bangkok. We went took an overnight bus to an island called Ko Tao, it's very small. The bus was interestin, I tried to sleep the whole time because everytime I was awake I was a little nervous about the drive, it was pretty rough. In Ko Tao we took our dive course from Crystal Dive Resort, it was really amazing! We loved their dive crew and really miss the island. It was a four day course, we start in the classroom taking tests and going over your text, watching cheesy videos. Then we went in the pool to learn some skills and then we went on 4 dives in the ocean. On our second dive I was clearing my mask and I got water up my nose and in my throat, so I started to choke and panic, meanwhile I couldn't see because my mask was full of water. Very scary! All I wanted to do was shoot straight up and out of th water but my scuba instructor held me down until my mask was clear and I was breathing

normally, had a bit of a scare! All the rest of the dives went great we saw a sea turtle and a snake, lots of cool fish. So we were busy with our homework over there and after we passed our dive course there was a little celebration where we watched a video of our dive and hung out at the bar with the dive crew and other divers.

Thailand has a very interesting culture. Some things that are different is you don't wear your shoes in buildings you take them off at the door, they find feet very disgusting. Also the sewage system can't handle toilet paper so the toilets aren't always flush ones you pour water in them to push the waste down, and you have to throw all your TP in the garbage. Also the bathrooms don't have shower stalls, the toilet and shower are just all in one, so usually the toilet is covered with water haha. Our hotel in Ko Tao was beautiful, because we were diving with their resort they gave us a really good deal on rooms.

Now we are in Ko Pha-Ngan, home of the full moon party, which means

We took a boat down the river, getting off at all the touristy places.
very scarce accomodation. So we ended up on the other side of the island at a bungalow called Laem Son which is pretty secluded. It had a beautiful beach but was a far taxi ride from anything and the bungalows were definately the most roughing it we've done so far. Our room had no hot water, TV, no flush toilet, and only one bed so from our luxury hotel at Ko Tao we are learning to really rough it. Ha as we drove up in our taxi to the bungalows with a truck full of people everyone was like I hope this isn't us, I hope this isn't us... and it was us! So we stayed there until this morning and now we've moved to Haad Rin in Ko Pha-Ngan it's busier and we like having people around and a town.

Full moon party was last night, it was really crazy! We got all painted up and headed down at midnight with a group of Canadian travellers. There are about 10,000 people on the beach, blaring music, all kinds of food and buckets, and fire dancers, people passed out on the beach, very crazy! It was a really fun

time and we danced until the sun came up! Made it the whole night, we were pretty proud! So now we are at our new bungalows and going to stay here for a couple more days, we are thinking maybe some jet skiing tomorrow? I will try to get some pictures up right away. This computer doesn't let you, so maybe next time!

Bye for now, Chels.

Our tuk tuk driver who was supposed to be with us all day because he was getting free gas for dragging us all around the city to tailors and jewellery shops but he ditched us at the Grand Palace.
