Entry 32 -- An Extraordinary Parley

The Armanenschaft believed that the death of an individual was a tragedy, but the deaths of a millions of people was merely a statistic. When it come to the Holocaust is hard to express the magnitude of the evil that has been done. This extermination process was carried out on a regular basis during the final years of the war. The efficiency and massive scale of the genocidal procedure perpetrated with the help of modern technology staggers the imagination. The wasteful tragedy must be multiplied by millions.

The Two witnesses

I too had suffered personal loss. It had been confirmed that my old and dear friend Pastor Hans Hoff was dead. He was condemned to death on April 8, 1945, by SS judge Otto Thorbeck at a drumhead court-martial in Flossenbürg concentration camp. He was executed there by hanging at dawn on April 9, 1945, just days before the Soviet capture of Berlin and the capitulation of Germany. Executed with Hans were fellow "conspirators" Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Admiral Wilhelm Canaris, and General Hans Oster.

Many had been deeply moved by the way these brave men prayed, so devout and so certain that God heard their prayer. They climbed the few steps to the gallows; composed and dying as martyrs for the cause of Christ. Hans always knew where we "are" is by God’s providence and it is there we are to exercise the ministry God has given us. His ministry unto the death was an articulation and embodiment of Gospel-comfort to fellow prisoners awaiting execution. Captain Payne Best survived to bear tribute to the prison-camp pastor: "He was different; just quiet, calm and normal, seemingly perfectly at his ease". . . His soul shined in the dark desperation of our prison. "He was one of the very few men I have ever met to whom God was real and ever close to him."

Hans had told me at the Nuremberg Rally that we were the 'Two Witnesses' called by God. I must confess if he was the 'first witness' he did a magnificent job. He warned of the 'Darkness', helped form the Confessing Church and inspired many to stand firm in the face of the greatest Evil the world had ever known.

The Parley

The Abomination that Wreaks Desolation had been perpetrated upon the Hebrew people. The seven years of tribulation had now come to an end. The world experienced its first atomic war. Now the Royal Arch had called a Parley. I was amongst seventy-seven individuals gathered together for this most important meeting.

During the past year, Allied troops had been uncovering the atrocities of the 'Thousand Year Reich'; this unspeakable evil had driven many soldiers quite mad. We were now in possession records, files, pictures, artefacts, and film, which fully documented the horrors of this Great Tribulation. Only the Seventy-Seven knew fully what had transpired and we needed decide what to do.

I was the first to arrive. It was a Tuesday morning when I was shown my comfortable but spartan quarters. By Saturday our number was complete. It was the first time that I had tangible proof of how important the work of Dr. Levine and myself had been to the war effort. Yet our project had only been a small part of the whole picture.

Holy Communion

On Saturday evening we assembled, and came together in Holy Communion. The service was led by the Vice-Rector of a seminary in Belluno. I do believe that he was the most powerful spiritual force amongst us. A warm smile that reached his eyes made everyone in the room feel that God was with us.

Sunday morning at 8:00 hours we assembled to discuss the business at hand. The 'Duke' chaired the meeting, as was customary. I had always thought him a bit of a dandy but he definitely had a flair for his role. The first to stand and to address the assembly was a representative of the American government. "We move that the occult doings of the Armanenschaft be totally eliminated from history. We further move that every document, every building, every photograph and every film, be destroyed. Even Wolf's Lair must be wiped from the face of the earth so as not to become a future shrine. The elect of the Brotherhood should be executed and their remains disposed of in places that shall remain secret. We want nothing to remain that can ever be used as a memorial to the Armanen or their followers."

What followed was a most heated debate and more than a little turmoil. Many argued in support of the Americans with a sincere belief that humanity was not ready for what the Seventy-Seven assembled knew to be the truth. Others took a strong stand against the position of the Americans. Truth, no matter how unsettling, should never, never be repressed. The debate continued for hours as the assembly was totally polarised.

Then it was moved that we table the motion; this led to complete chaos. In America the term ‘to table’ means to remove something from discussion. In Britain, it means the very opposite; id est to bring ‘to’ the table. This misunderstanding in turn led to a frightful maelstrom; the meeting went off the rails. It was at this point I rose on a point of order and explained away the confusion; being ‘bilingual’ as it were. Finally, at noon, an exasperated Chairman called for a vote. Thirty-eight supported the motion, thirty-eight opposed and the Chairman abstained. He then adjourned the meeting.

Lake of Fire

During the recess period, I desperately tried to ascertain exactly what had happened to the Wolf and his Prophet. I was alarmed by reports that a group called Odessa had enabled them to flee to South America. Equally alarming were reports that they had shot themselves, for Hans believed that they could not be killed by conventional means. I was finally able to get the most up-to-date information.

"How did they die?" I questioned, for prophecy states that the Wolf and the False Prophet must be thrown into a lake of fire; neither bullets nor other weapons would have any effect on them. I received the reply I wanted, "They were thrown into pools of flaming petrol."

The Compromise

At three o'clock in the afternoon the chairman recalled the meeting. This time it was the British Prime Minister who addressed us: "I too believe the world is not ready for the horrors of the past seven years. Indeed, the world would not believe it. Yet it is my conviction that we do not have the right to destroy or eradicate historical truth. I propose that we eliminate anything that can be used as a shrine to the Dark Gods, but that we save and preserve all historical material. I further propose that this documentation should not be released until first day of January in the year our Lord two thousand and forty-six. Only far into the distant future should the clatter of bones falling from the closet, reverberate round the world!

"How can that be done?" I asked

The British Prime Minister drawing the right hand across the neck then lowering it to his side reminded us that we knew how to keep secrets. "All that is sensitive shall be held by us, beyond the reach of any government. With that compromise began the greatest cover-up in the history of mankind.

Excerpts of a letter from Dr. R.K. Harriman, Department of History and Archaeology, Trinity College,

to The Rev. G. Bryan Porter.

Many Christians try to predict when the Parousia will come. Although the Catholic Apostolic Church understood that the 'Prophesies of the Apocalypse' would be fulfilled in the Twentieth Century, they believed 'predicting' was impossible because the Bible said these events would happen at a "time when we least expect them". Rather prophesy was for the elect to be able to recognize when these events were fulfilled for Jesus would come and go like a "thief in the night". . .

The changes which attend the Coming of the Lord
will not be such as will attract the attention
or the gaze of men.
The pending judgments, such as are announced
by the seven trumpets—the political, ecclesiastical,

and social changes which they involve,
will seem to come about as ordinary events
in human history, produced by the changes
that are working in society.

The rising up of the Antichrist and his full revelation
will appear as the outcome of changes of opinion
that have been going on for a long time,
and will be upon men before they are aware of it. . .

It is only the elect who are looking for the Lord's appearing,
who have received with faith and reverence the warnings
of the great event, who will recognize its tokens
and will comprehend.

- John S. Davenport.
