This morning we climbed Mt Amos, which is in Freycinet National Park. We were told it was a tough climb and that it was going to be hard work. It was very steep and we had to be very careful. When we'd been climbing for about twenty minutes, we passed a man coming down with blood covering one side of his face, he'd slipped and fallen near to the summit and we were all a little scared, but more careful, after that. We had to get on our hands and knees and pull ourselves up a lot of it. On the way down, I just sat down and slid most of the way (hence, I no longer have the trousers I was wearing this morning). I really enjoyed the climb and the view from the top was amazing. We were the only ones at the summit for the duration that we were there and we had brilliant views over Wineglass Bay. The weather was perfect, there's no way we could have done it it was raining, or if it had rained the night before, because it would be too dangerous. It was dry, this morning, apart from a couple of small mossy spots, but I still fell twice on the way down. The whole thing was very exciting! I loved it.

We were in the bus for most of the afternoon, with a couple of short stops at Spikey Beach and Spikey Bridge. Before dinner, we were dropped at the visitors' centre at Port Arthur so that we have a bit of background information before we have a chance for a proper look around the site, tomorrow.
