BeihaiBeihaiBeihai

we were very careful crossing the road!
We left our bags at the hotel and headed to a nearby restaurant for some dumplings and some beers and then walked back to the hotel and picked up our bags and wandered over the road to the train station. The trains in India were just fantastic so we wanted to try the Chinese trains. Waving our ticket around a bit we found the train and settled in for another journey. Very comfortable but quite boring. We arived in Bei Hai at about 4 and it was windy and damp. we found a taxi and he took us to silver beach where we wanted to stay. The place is deserted. Not just no foreigners but no one at all. The first hotel we went into was a four-star and it was empty. The second was a three star and it too was empty. The massive roads are all empty, like a ghost town! We found a two star hotel and checked in and then went for a walk to buy a ferry ticket. The beach was wet and deserted and we found the ferry terminal and it too was deserted apart from one little lady who saw us and phoned someone.

Welcome
Hi man, Yes there's nobody there, there's roads wide enough so you could build your house in the middle without disturbing the circulation, there's plenty of half-build abandonned buildings and the hotels are all empty. You feel there's a problem of ghost city here and you are not so wrong. Welcome to Beihai ! More seriously you just came in when the weather turned bad. Also that's not the touristic season yet and that part of Beihai is very very touristic dependant. Are you still in Beihai now ? Welcome for a beer ! A french living here.
