Hello there my friends, guess what......I held a Koala!! it was soooo cute and such a fun thing to do....I felt mighty priviledged I tell you!! How jealous are you all now eh?! :P

Yesterday we went to Kahunu Koala Park which is where I held the Koala (surprisingly enough!!hehe) This park was reeeelly cool as most of the animals are roaming free around the park or are in massive enclosures, and instead of standing at the side and trying to get a peek of the animals from afar you can actually enter the enclosures and be 'at one' with the animals!! In the Kangaroo enclosure I got to stroke a Kangaroo which was really amazing....it's soo great how close you can get and how relaxed they are!! I also went into the walk through Aveary which was an experience I won't forget in a hurry!! Pink and white gallahs pecking my finger was not the friendliest display of affection I have ever felt! :P It was fun though.....however if you're afraid of birds I would strongly advise against it!!hehe We also saw wombats, alpacas, black swans, a white peacock, emus etc.... It was agreat experience and a lovely start to the day!! We then caught the train to Mandurah which is a lovely peaceful area by the coast...we had lunch at 'The Stage Door' a restaurant owned by one of Sharon's friends....it was a verry nice place and had yummyscrummy food too :P hehe

We then went to the Performing Arts Centre next door to the restaurant and had a little gander....the theatre was locked so we couldn't take a look inside, but there was a gallery displaying some art work, so we took a little look at that and then moved on.....outside on the foreshore there were some massive photo frames for the perfect photo op....obv I took full advantage of this and had my photo taken in both!!hahaha

Next stop was a shop that was selling some of Sharon's friend's artwork, a nice littel place, can't remember the name but it had antique furniture and some more individualistic objects for sale amongst crockery, etc....just you're general knick knacks!

We returned home and had a restful evening.....watched a bit of the old Neighbs and Home and Away.....I tell you i'm finding it hard to keep up to speed with all of these new storylines coming at me!!hehe

Sooo....today I went for a walk in the bush with Brad, Danielle and Ryan. We went to John Forest National Park, and instead of taking me on the easy old train track walk (flat) they thought a proper bush walk was what I needed to experience!! It was amazing too.....i'll definately remember it more for the fact that we were doing a lot more up and down climbing than just going in a straight line....much more interesting!! The views that I saw of the city and surrounding area were beautiful too.....everything is sooo spaced out here compared to back home in the UK it is truely spectacular!! I saw some local birds and wildlife and also some 'black boys' which are very slow growing trees with a black trunk that I think are native to Western Australia.
We walked up to the 'pub' (not as good as in England but at least they try!!) We had a drink here and sat with the Kangaroos who had decided to lay down right by the seating area! (probably because they know that they'll be some food left out for them at some point!) We then took the easier walk back to the car along the old train track....this also provided great views of the valley and the National Park, at one point on the trail there is an old tunnel, which doesn't look like its going to be that dark from the outside, but once you're in there you literally can't see where you're walking.....all I could see was the light at the end of the tunnel!! Luckily I didn't trip on any misplaced rocks....that could have been interesting! After our little adventure we went to get lunch at none other than good old reliable subway.....very scrummy and hit the spot after a couple of hours walking!

Then we came home and hung out for a while....I now have wind burn on my face.....from the walk I guess - my delicate English skin is just not used to these conditions!!haha...I have rosy cheeks though so I don't mind :P

I've just watched some AFL (Australian Football League), which is kind of a cross between football and rugby....they get way more points though...the match I just watched had the final score of something like 112-105 I think......it's a much faster game and really quite fun to watch (the team I wanted to win did too - North Melbourne - they're kit was a better colour....don't you just love the way that I choose who to support!!hehe)

Tomorrow i'm going to Rottnest Island with Rhodri (who I met in Singapore) and then we are going to a karaoke in the evening so i'm going to be a busy little bee!! Then on either Monday or Tuesday i'm going to Margaret River to stay with my lovely Han's cousin Laura. This should be really good, and i've heard that it's a beautiful area to see....lotts of arts and culture there, as well as surfing, although I don't know if it's the right time of year for that!!hehe

Anyways, I must get my rest before tomorrow (we're cycing around the island and it's hilly, so we're most likely going to have a rather tired me on our hands by the end of the day!!)

Squillions of kisses from the other side of the world
