I can't remember if I mentioned yesterday or not, but it was Mirko's birthday. He's the guy in the coffee shop we go to every morning. We tried to buy a birthday card and it didn't go so well, so we (like little kids) used some colored paper and markers and made him a card. We did put a picture of ourselves in the card for him though as well...an actual picture, not a drawing. We gave it to him this morning and he really liked it and he started blushing. He then showed the other guy that he works with and started blushing all over again. What a cutie! When we went to pay for our croissants (corneto here in bella Italia) and our capuccino they wouldn't let us pay. Mirko said he was paying today since it's his birthday. We explained that it doesn't work that way in America, but apparently in Italy if it's your birthday then YOU buy the drinks for everyone else. Sucks that I'll be celebrating my birthday in Italy this year. Maybe I just won't tell anyone 😊

Lauren was up until 4am last night working on her creative project for school. I went to sleep at midnight promptly after finishing my homework. I can't believe we have THIS much work to do. I'm getting ready to download some song lyrics for my "Don't Forget the Lyrics" creative project that I need to teach tomorrow night. I have to teach three nights this week, and I still get nervous about it. Hopefully it all goes well.

We're planning our ritual Thursday night celebration to mark another end of a week of craziness. This time, we plan on going to McDonald's. Yes, you heard that right. There is a McDonald's here in Rome by the Spanish Steps that is supposed to me the most extravagant and nicest McDonald's in the world. So, we're gonna head there since we need to go before Jenny leaves next week. Plus, I could use some type of meat that doesn't come in the form of prociutto, salami, or sausage. I have been eating mostly cheese and bread since arriving. I'm definitely not complaining since I love both. But I haven't had many veggies, and definitely no fruit. LOL, I'm a mess. I had some type of pasta today for lunch. I have NO idea what it was and I was kind of afraid to check it out and see what I ate. I think it had some type of fish...anchovies maybe since it was a little salty tasting.

Well, I guess that's it for now. I need to get back to work now. I'll write more later this week. I hope you're all doing well.

Oh, and I've been having people tell me to go to the Vatican and pray really hard since the Flyers are in the playoffs. Well we went there last week and were blessed by the Pope, but we think we want to go back again this Sunday. So, I'll see what I can do, haha. I've been putting in many petitions for people at the various churches here, so on a more serious note, if you need some extra prayers for yourself or someone else, then let me know and I'll write a petition and light a candle at a church. Maybe it will work better being closer to the Pope 😉

Don't waste any time praying for us. If you have to pray for your teams to win, that's going to take up all the praying time a person could ever have - nice suggestion, Dan! sheesh. So is Mirko the dude you'll end up marrying on this trip? I still believe there's a good chance some dude sweeps you off your feet over there. Nice job on the blog. Keep it up whenever you can.
