Greetings from Singapore. I am here relaxing at the Sleepy Sam's Bed and Breakfast ( a great hostel here in the Arab District) awaiting to meet my friend Josh for dinner, whom I have not seen in nine years. I will be off to Nepal in the morning. The trip over was extraordinary. The Singpaore Airlines experience is still alive and well. I can not think of a trip I have enjoyed more. The journey began on F9 from DEN-SFO -- could not resist watching the WPT along the way on Direct TV. I watched the sun set across the Pacific as we were vectored for the "quiet bridge visual" (IIRC) to RW 28L. I would see it rise again two days latter in HKG.
Of a humorus note, the check in agent at SQ must have noted my extreme enthusiasm for checking into SQ1 -- my response of "EXCELLENT!" to his query of "How are you doing this evening sir?" seemed to take him by surprise. And an excellent state I was in, for the most obvious of reasons!

Upon arrival in HKG, I was fascinated by the dramatic physical location of the airport, and the diverse collection of airlines and aircraft. I was like a kid in a candy store for my four hours in transit, awating my connecting flight to SIN. After another excellent flight on SQ, I found myself back to the friendly environments of Changi Airport, the Singapore MRT, and as I walked into the streets of Singapore, stoping at the first roti stand I came across (muslim restraunt) to enjoy a freshly prepared roti as an afternoon thunderstorm passed. Back in Singapore!!!

While all of this is great, life (and travel) is about new places, new people, and new experiences. Singapore (and the journey) has been experienced before. I am off to new places and new experiences on this journey...

Keep those updates rolling in!!
Hey Dave, Great to hear you are fully underway and exploring the nooks and crannies of KTH.... and that the place has not descended into chaos / coup d`etat with the political situation! I had a great week in Fiji... a little on the wet side (end of rainy season) but enjoyed rediscovering how genuine the indigenous Fijians` are! Flew back on a very tired 747-400 NAN-LAX with Air Pacific. Read with keen interest that they (Air pacific) are scheduled to take delivery of 5 new 787-Dreamliners by 2012. How will they run those profitably?? Sounds like a loss-leader to help feed the tourist industry. Looking forward to your next post... safe travels!
