Watching the sunset in Ko Phangan.
Hello

Hope everyone is well. We're now in Bangkok having travelled up from the Malaysian border. Haven't written for a while so here's Thailand:

The Good:

Monday mornings on a speed boat travelling from Krabi to Ko Phi Phi across clear, warm water, jumping off at times to snorkel with the tropical fish and finding Nemo. Beats cold grey mornings travelling to work in Dundee or Aberdeen
The food, heaps of it and it's cheap as. Eating meals and drinking cocktails in the restaurants on the beach under the stars (sounding a bit soft now!) Plus the extra bonus; if you travel with Helen, she can't always finish her tea so it leaves all the more for me :-)
Sun rises in the morning and having the beach to yourself
Friendly people in the south keen to help you out
Laughing at Helen as she broke the sun lounger in Ko Samui and had to buy XXL shorts in Bangkok! HaHaHa
Thai massage (not that kind of massage!) for a couple of quid. Felt brand new afterwards
Bartering for everything. It's good once we got the hang of it

The Bad:

36 hour boat, taxi, overnight
Ko TaoKo TaoKo Tao

Sitting outside our bungalow
bus, mini van journey to get to here
Almost crapping myself in the street as travellers trots took hold
Braking the hammock in Ko Phan Ngan, it's not meant for fat Scotsmen!

In the past 3 and a half weeks we both agree that Malayisa has probably been our favourite place, not feeling like we're getting ripped off all the time like it is in Thailand, however, it is growing on us and afterall, they are trying to make a living. The islands were very relaxed but the cities are a bit crazy! Despite this, we're having a great time so far and enjoying a totally different culture and lifestyle.

So that's it, loads to see and do, those of you who've been know what it's like, those who haven't should come and have a look, it's a nice place.

Ta Ta and take care

Craig & Helen

p.s. Thailand fact: It is illegal to stand on money here as the king is on it.
