Chimala Newsletter - Jason and Madesha Stapleton - March 2008

I hope this letter finds you doing well. I want to take a few minutes to update you as to how the work is going.

Over the past few weeks we have busy working with the Simike congregation in the city of Mbeya (about an hours drive from the mission). During our time there we have spent several days going house to house as well as visiting some of the fallen Christians. As result of the work there we had four restorations and one baptism. Our final day of working there we conducting a meeting with the congregation and had a very good turn out with about 20 in attendance. We had three lessons dealing with the work of the church, faith, and worship. We also had a period of questions and answers which seemed to go over very well; the only problem was it started to rain and the rain was so loud on the tin roof we had to cut the period short. Overall we were all very happy

with the work and the results that took place.

Also this last month we spent a day in Mbozi with the Wasa, Isalalo, Welu, Uzinje and Msia congregations. We have several men that work with us in Chimala from this area and they all expressed interest in holding a meeting there. So the 22nd of March we drove three hours to meet with the brethren to have a day of worship. We had our typical three lessons and a fellowship meal after the lessons. We had a good turnout here as well with over 35 in attendance. The majority of the Christians walked several miles in order to take part in the meeting. Of course we are always so thankful and encouraged to see such commitment and desire.

I have also picked up a class on Mondays at the school of preaching. I am teaching the second year students how to outline and put together sermons. This is really a much needed topic here in Tanzania. The majority of our students have never seen a real outline nor have any idea of how to put one together. And maybe the biggest reason for this, is that there are no resources whatsoever for sermon making. Thus we have been taking it step by step. A few of the students caught on very quickly and are progressing but several are really struggling with the whole concept. Hopefully they will catch on before the end of the quarter, I guess we will wait and see.

Again, we do want to thank you for your prayers and support. I am going to post some pictures of the meeting we had this last month on our blog for those who would like to look at them. The address is below.

In Christian Love,

Jason, Madesha, Levan and Layla Stapleton

So "Proud" of you guys!
It brings tears to my eyes as I read of the work you guys are doing. Chimala is such a special place. Tell Bernard I said thanks fof the call to check on my health. Also the Raynors for their emails of concern for my health. We leave this morning (4/5/08) for Anderson, Indiana for a Gospel Meeting. I will hold another one at the Las Vegas Trail congregation in Fort Worth the following week, then a campaign/Gospel Meeting the last week of April at Talco Texas (BTSOP students will knock doors), and my final one for this spring will be a campaign/Gospel Meeting at Quinlan, Texas where Darrin will preach on Friday and Saturday, the students will knock doors those days, and I will bring the meeting to an end on Sunday. They wanted you to preach as part of it but I said I thought you were a bit far away. They also wanted Heath, but since he is in Kountze he was unable to come. We love you guys and pray for you every day. Give the little ones a hug from Babu and Bibi.

It is great to hear of the work and see photos of you guys and the brethren. Glad to hear of the work in the outlying areas being fruitful. We thank God for you, your family and your work in the Lord. We thank God for the brethren there in Tanzania. May the Lord bless you always and deeply. Things are going well in southern Indiana. We have had some flooding in the last 2-3 weeks but are drying out a bit now. At Fredericksburg we had a baptism of a 16 year old girl. So we are excited and rejoice with her. Take care
