Well you wouldn't read about it. We travelled on a brand new A 380 Airbus!!! The A 380, a triumph of 21st century engineering, the ultimate in modern international travel. And how did it feel? Exactly the same cattle class feel as any other flight you've ever been on.

Here at the airport there is free internet access everyewhere. Hence the blog.

Here in singapore we have 8 hours to fill (sounds like the second line from SEQUEL by Harry Chapin - There you go Mike didn't think i could get a Harry reference in so early did you?)

We have booked in for a 2 hour free tour of Singapore (yes we Langfords know how to party).

Our flight leaves at 10.50pm local time and we arrive in Paris via Amsterdam tomorrow morning (whatever day that is. i guess i'll find out when i get there).

I checked my email and i won this round of the footytips. Now there's the secret i've been looking for: to win you simply have to go overseas.

Saw 2 movies:
* 3.10 to Yuma (enjoyed)
* Atonement ( I know i'm going to offend all the women reading this but i found it rather twee).

All right will try and post something when we get to Paris.

Liz here. We are back at the airport after out tour. Australia has a lot to learn about how to do median strips.....tubs of flowering shrubs and rainforest plants. It's all so green.
Have decided to give having a shower before our Amsterdam leg a miss - $S13 each. We'll just have to cope.
Mike, I watched No Country for Old Men, and loved it!
Jess, keep smiling....

Just a co0mment on Singapore..

If any of you have read DUNE you will be aware of the Fremen, the ecolgical warriors in the service of Kynes the ecologist.

It strikes me that the Singapore population are the fremen sservants of Lee Kwan You's vision of a modern state. Like the Fremen nothing will get in their way to stop them from achieving LKY's aims.

Till next time.

I agree with both of you. Atonement was rather average, and yes the median strips are amazing! Did they mention on the bus that the reason they are all in potplants is so they can remove them if necessary? It seems that the freeway also doubles up as an emergency runway for the airport. Clever thinkin'
