In the Kauri Kingdom
Lord of the forest...
Krol lasu - w lesie Kauri There is quite a lot to say, what I have done in the Nothern Island.
Notice that there are two pages of this blog entry...
Just few words about pictures..
First three pictures are taken at the top of the long Peninsula, Cape Reinga.
Standing at the windswept Cape Reinga lighthouse and looking out over the endless ocean on the right hand side, and Tasman Sea on the left, has a real end of the world feel to it. Both Sea and Ocean are meet each other there, generating waves up to 10 meters in stormy weather.
In Maori legend this point is where the spirits of the dead depart the earth.
The next few pictures are taken during the party with our bus driver who invited us to the pub as the weather wasn't too good to do other activities that time....
Museum in Wellington, quite simmilar to the Science Museum in London, which I love - so I couldn't resist not to see it!!
Wine testing, it is one of the most popular activities you can do after ferry trip to the South Island.

Latarnia do innego wymiaru.. worth to see how the wine is produced and winieries. One of the red one is called Sylvia..

Rabbit sheering - I had almost heart attack seeing it but apparently it's absolutely not harmful for them. They have to be sheered every 5 months.
Maori Warrior - this picture is taken during Maori cultural show near Rotorua. It is amazing to see and listen to their songs and stories about their history.
After show they invited us for dinner which they prepared in the special hole in the ground. They put food on the vulcanos stones heated up to 300 degrees.It tasted delicious!!!
Breathe in the sulphur- rich air of Rotorua and you've already got a taste of NZ's most dynamic thermal area with sputring gysers, steaming hot springs, and exploding hot muds. - Few next pictures..
Riding a horse...it was Dorota's first time on the horse...a lot of excitment!!
Black Water Rafting..
Waitomo Caves is a must do on the NZ adventure activities.
There are more that 300 mapped caves in Waitomo district.

Looking into Lord of the forest's eye...
Patrzac w oczy krolowi lasu... stalagmites until you swing og onto the river. Whern the light on your casc is switched off you will see a Milky May of little lights surrounding you - these are the glow worms.
They are the larvae of the fungus gnat which looks much like a large mosquito. The larva glow worm have a luminescent organs that produces a soft - greenish light.
Black Water Rafting involves floating on an inner tube down subterranean river that flows through Cave.
The high point is leaping off a small waterfall (in darkness you don't know it is small...) and then floating through a long glow worm covered passage. The trip ends walking in the 100kg shoes and wet suit full of water up to the hill on the stairs, then hot shower and hot soup - my favourite - tomato soup!!!
Jest bardzo duzo do opisania co robilam na polnocnej wyspie i chyba wszystkiego bym nie zmiescila...

Kilka slow o zdjeciach:
Trzy pierwsze sa zrobione na polnocy wyspy polnocnej w Nowej Zelandii. Polwysep ten nazywa sie Cape Reinga i jest najdalej wysunietym na polnoc kawalkiem Nowej Zelandii.

Party time..
Zabawa trwa.. Stajac przy latarni na najdalszym kawalku ladu i patrzac w bezmiar Oceanu Spokojnego z prawej strony i w MorzeTasmana z lewej ma sie wrazenie ze jest to naprawde koniec swiata. Ocean i Morze lacza sie w tym miejscu tworzac fale siegajace do 10 metrow podczas sztormowej pogody. Ten punkt jest wedlug Maorysow miejscem gdzie dusze umarlych opuszczaja Ziemie.
Nastepne pare zdjec zrobilam na party z naszym kierowca autobusu, ktory chcial nam wynagrodzic brzydka pogode w Rotorua i zabral nas na uczte i party.
Muzeum w Wellington, to miejsce,ktore nalezy obejrzec, przed przeprawa promem na wyspe poludniowa - podobne do Science Museum w Londynie- nastepne pare zdjec.
Smakowanie wina, to jedno z licznych atrakcji zaraz po przybyciu na wyspe poludniowa. Nie jestem milosnikiem win, ale warto bylo zobaczyc jak produkuja wino i jak wygladaja winnice. PS. Jedno z win nosi moje imie - Sylvia. Jest czerwone i troche za ostre jak dla mnie ;-))
Pare nastepnych zdjec jak zjezdzalismy na desce do surfowania z wydm piaskowych.
Strzyzenie krolikow na sweterki z Angorki spowodowalo u mnie niemalze zawal serca. Ale okazalo sie ze nie sa krzywdzone ani torturowane podczas strzyzenia i jest to niezbedny dla nich zabieg
Party time
Zabawa trwa pielegnacyjny.
Wojownik Maoryski - zdjecie zrobione podczas wystepu kulturalnego we wiosce Maorysow kolo Rotorua. Po wystepie zostalismy zaproszeni na kolacje, ktora ugotowali dla nas w specjalnie przygotowanych dolach w ziemi, na kamieniach wulkanicznych rozgrzanych do okolo 300 stopni. Wszystko smakowalo bardzoej niz wysmienicie.
Wez oddech bogatym w siarke powietrzem w Rotorua i bedziesz miec posmak najbardziej dynamicznego miejsca w NZ. Sa tam wyrzucajace goraca wode w powietrze gejzery, gorace zrodla i wybuchajace gorace blotne jeziora...
Rotorua to miejsce na Polnocnej wyspie gdzie stykaja sie dwie "plates" "skorupy" tworzac row oceaniczny w glebi oceanu, a na ladzie thermalne miejsca wzbogacajac powietrze w siarkowy zapach..
Przejazdzki konne to jest to co zawsze lubilam...dorota pierwszy raz na koniu, miala duzo wrazen.
Black Water rafting, czyli splyw po rzecze, ale podziemnej.
Dzieje sie to w Waitomo Jaskiniach.
Jest to jedno z rzeczy, ktore nalezy zrobic w Nowej Zelandii. W tym obszarze jest ponad 300 naniesionych na mape jaskin.
GlowWorm Jaskinia jest jedna z wiekszych z stalagtytami i stalagmitami, az do momentu kiedy po wylaczeniu swiatelek umieszczonych na kaskach uczestnikach.
Oczom ukazuje sie droga mleczna - to sa larwy, ktore wygladaja jak duze komary. Wydzielaja one delikatnie zielone swiatlo.
Splyw wykonuje sie na detce, na ktorej sie siedzi. Tunele sa dosc glebokie, wiec lepiej nie spadac z detki bo w totalnych ciemnosciach, kaloszach i spacjalnym kostiumie do nurkowania niezbyt dobrze sie plywa...sprawdzilam ;-))
Nalezy rowniez skoczyc do tylu na detce z wodospadu, na co musisz sie naprawde sie odwazyc...w rzeczywistosci jest tam bardzo plytko, ale jak skaczesz do tylu w ciemnosc, nie bardzo jeszcze o tym wiesz ;-))
Wyprawa konczy sie wejsciem, w stukilowym kostiumie nasaczonym woda i kaloszach pelnych wody po stumilowych schodach, a pozniej goracym prysznicem i zupa ....moja ulubiona - pomidorowa!!
