Edit Blog Post
Hi there folks......
Well I've covered a lot of ground since my last blog so I'm going to have to paraphrase abit! After my last blog we had a night out in Wellington to say goodbye to Rob & Vic, had a nice meal and a few drinks then the next morning I was off to Napier which I won´t even bother telling you about cos it was BBBOOOORRRIINNGG!! The day after that I was heading up to Rotorua which is a really cool place but stinks of rotten eggs! It has these hot springs and geyzers which are sulphur based and they stink! Anyway, had a really night there as we went to a traditional Maouri ceremony where the guys do the hakka to welcome you into their tribe. It was amzing to watch and we had a gorgeous meal with them which is cooked in their traditional style, Very nice indeed!!
Next stop was Mount Maganoui and it is so gorgeous, the beach is beatiful and the seafood there was divine!! We just chilled out and ate lots of food there which was perfect! Also at this point I realised that I had put on over half
a stone! whoops, not really a surprise though!! After Mount Maganoui we headed up to Aukland and I decided to bring my leaving date forward a couple of days as I was ready to get to tropical paradise and Aukland was pretty much like any other city! I have to say New Zealand was fantastic but the south island definitely has alot more to offer in my opinion!
So, off to sunny Fiji and when I arrived I felt instantly relaxed. As I was walking off the plane and into the baggage claim, there was 4 guys dressed in hawian style shirts playing figian instuments and singing away! hahaha, it was great. You certainly would never see that at Heathrow!! The following morning I got on a boat to the Yasawa group of Islands and the weather was fantastic, first stop was Coral View resort which was lovely, as we pulled up on the boat all of the staff came on to the beach and started singing. It turned out that this would happen everywhere we went, they just love to sing! Anyway, had a great couple of days there and met some really cool people, then on the
third day we all got back on the boat to be transfered to our second stop which was a night on a cruise boat. On the boat you were supposed to a do a tour of some of the famous islands and do some diving & kayaking etc. However, we ended up being stuck on the boat for 2 days because a tropical cyclone hit!! We couldn't even go out on the top deck as it was too dangerous!! haha......Anyway, we made the best of it and just played alot of cards and a lot drinking games!
Once we were able to get off the boat, we went a couple more Islands including Manna Island which was brilliant! I bumped into a couple who I'd been travelling with in New Zealand so that was good, we were all staying in the same Guesthouse! Also the sun came back out which was good so had a few days of topping up the tan and realxing before heading to LA.
Arrived in LA on the Thursday and met Auntie Penny for the first time which was brilliant. Stayed with Penny and family for a couple of days and saw some
of the sights of LA, including Rodeo drive, Beverley hills and the Getty museum. Also did a bit of shopping in the thrift stores on Melrose avenue! Had a pretty chilled out few days before heading to Mexico which is where I am now!!
Mexico is so beautiful, well should I say Guanajuato is! I haven't been able to explore too much unfortuntely!! Since arriving 2 weeks ago I've loved every second of it! The people are amazing, the food is delicious and the Spanish is coming on quite well! To say that I couldn't speak a word of spanish the other week, I gave a 10 minute presentation in spanish on Friday so I'm pretty pleased so far!! Since I've been here I've been pretty busy at school in the days then have been going out for gorgeous meals and tequila in the evenings!! Won't go into too much detail as I'm sure you're all bored of this blog by now so will just let the pics do the talking for here on........
Only 8 weeks till I'm home now and am reaaaalllyy looking forward to it!! Well kind of!!
Hope you're all well!!
Lot
of love to you all!
