To cover the ground since my last entry, as I’m sure I have done something other then work!

Australia Day was much like how I celebrate at home. Start the day by working, head home, have BBQ (this was done in the oven, but still good!) and listen to the Triple J Hottest 100 (only streamed the top 10. It was a close one this year!). It was good, but unfortunately, the weather did not live up to what it is back home, so couldn’t crack out the shorts and thongs. Not that that stopped James, who insisted in walking to the supermarket, in honour of the day, wearing only board shorts, thongs and his Hawthorn guernsey while sipping a cold Fosters.

Last Friday was a day off for me, and consisted of me going shopping with Megan. Finally learning all the good cheap(er) shops to go to. Just have to wait until I get paid though before I unleash and pick up some clothes. The Spring dresses have just come out, and some of them are pretty amazing. I think some will definitely be making the trip back home with me.

I have been to the cinema a few times to see “Sweeney Todd” and “No Country For Old Men”. It is certainly a different experience over here. Lots of audience participation, and sometimes inappropriately.

On the weekend we headed over to Shaun and Krystel’s house for Shaun’s Birthday celebrations, Super Bowl style. It was a great night, where we non-stop ate disgustingly good American food all night. I believe that the last round of food, which consisted of hotdog and ribs, was at 2am. Needless to say, the next morning for breakfast, it was an apple for me. Roulette was also a great feature, and not to mention drinking games for every time the commentators said “Tight End” and “Sack”. Nice.

Tuesday marked another one of those glorious days known as a day off! Hoorah! James and I met up with Shaun in Piccadilly Circus. We had a wonder through China Town, and I found myself some wicked “Wizard of Oz” coasters. They are the coolest. We then wondered through Tin Pan Alley. This place would be heaven for Lachlan. I think he would need at lest a week just to get through all the shops. Our finally stop was a quick look at the British Museum. We didn’t have too much of a look around, but the building was very impressive. There were heaps of people in there, which can only be expected as it was spitting rain heavily outside.

That night, as an early birthday present for James, we went to the West End and saw the “Lion King”. It was amazing, and I was so excited to go. Now I want to go all the time! It was great to sit there in the Lyceum, while sipping on a London Pride pint. How very English.

Next time I write will be on the other side of our Dublin weekend. Looking forward to some travel!
