Being modelled by the lovely Skim.
Is this years must have. The face net has two functions, one to keep the pesky flies off your lovely face and the other, it provides a bit of shade from the fearsome sun. What can I say about the flies? There are more flies in Victoria than you can shake a stick at!
Bush flies, march flies, house flies, horse flies, stable flies, sand flies and many more.......
Some bite, some sting and others just harrass the hell out of you, by trying to get into any orifice available to them!
The only place that you are safe from them, funnily enough is the
toilets! Having said that, those have their own hazards.
Namely mozzies and nasty creepy things -
So don't forget to put your mozzie spray on your butt, cos' they'll have a bite of that too. And for you guys out there, don't put it on your dangly bits, cos' it
stings!!! I learnt that from experience and prefer to have the occasional bite to contend with.
Apparently this is the worst year for flies ever.
(But they said that last year!) And me thinks they'll say it again next year. Now I've got that out of my system, on with the blog..........
Oh! While I think of it, the best time to cook out in the open is half an
hour before dark, otherwise you'll have every flie within a mile radius crawling all over your food.
Then you have to eat it quick before the mozzies come and harrass the shit out of you.
OK! Enough said.... The Great Ocean Road Since we started planning this trip, this was the road we were most looking forward to travelling.
And we weren't disappointed.
Like many other people before us, we took hundreds photos.
Here are just a few for you to enjoy.
If you decide that you want to see more,
fetch over a few bottles when we get back and we'll be happy to bore you with them...
By the way! Did I mention the flies..................

Flies??
Well, REALLY! You sound like whingeing poms!! Seriously, how do the locals cope with them? The flies, not the whingeing visitors... Just view them as currants and you'll be fine. The reasons for total lack of sympathy? We're in the teeth of yet another bluddy gale and torrential rain, and my feet are cold. I wonder if our flies go south for the Aussie summer?? [rhetorical]
