The Sunday market in Chang Mai is incredible, & takes up most of the city centres 1.5 sq Km. Artisans from all over the area come to ply their wares, anything from silks to highly elabourate wooden carvings. The streets throng with people & the temples are taken over by stalls serving food.

Hi Shaun, its so much fun checking out what you are up to, it really looks like a trip of a lifetime....and brightens my day given its minus 30 and only light for about 6 h a day! So where are you going for your placement and what will you be doing....I was showing the tiger shots to Sacha and lex and didn't know what you hadn't settled on.

Rice with every meal!
Hi Gary, I have to confess that I had fried eggs, toast, marmalaide & coffe for breakfast for the last couple of days. I know it's cheating, but It will be rice for every meal once I get to my volunteer placement on the 8th Feb. Cheers Shaun

Volunteer placement
Hi Helen, I am glad that you are injoying the updates. It is a big responsibility to make sure that I have a great experience every day or else I would have nothing yo report! But I think the effort is worthwhile as it is very rewarding to be able to share my experiences when I am travelling alone. The first part of my placement will be at Phu Wua nature reserve in NE Thailand (Isaan Area). I have not yet commited to the 2nd part, but will brobobly go to Laos near to Vientiane, another Eco Tourism project. If you send me Sacha & Lex's email addresses, I will add them to the subscribers list. Give everyone my best wishes. Cheers ShaunX
