I've just arrived in Chiang Mai after a 13 hour overnight train journey to the North. The train was an experience in itself, with the seats converting into bunk beds, & pillows & a sheet supplied. Much more civilised than I expected, & definately better than British Rail!

Chiang Mai is a big city, but with a slow pace of life. Totally different to Bangkok! I will be going out soon to explore, but expect it to be a great place to experience. I will let you know how I get on.

Making a wish

Letting a group of small sparrow like birds to make a wish. Unfortunately they appear to have flown before my photographer took the picture!

I like Jacek's idea of your nickname "Tiger Toms" - glad to hear you enjoyed the journey; we look forward to the next installment.

Internet
Tell us please something about Internet access. Is it difficult to find it, is it expensive? Do you use your own laptop or other computers???

Internet Access
Hi Jacek, I hope that you are all well. I have my own computor with me which I either use through a wireless conection - if available, or via an internet cafe, which costs around 30 baht /hr (50p). Internet cafe's are plentiful, so if it wasn't for the fact that I will need my laptop for my volunteer work, I would have been better to have left it at home. Give my love to Ewa & the kids. All the best Shaun
