Hi everyone, we haven't updated for a while so here goes. Stopped to look at Tantanoola caves on the way to Mt Gambier, they were very specy. Pulled up in Mt Gambier for a few days, lots to see here. The history of the volcanoes is quite amazing. It makes you feel quite insignificant in the big picture. The last time there was any volcanic activity was 4,600 yrs ago. Mt Gambier crater is now filled with water the most amazing blue color. We circumnavigated the crater, about 3.8 kms. Mt Gambier town has 2 large caves right in the city centre. Frem here we travelled down to the Shipwreck coast. 140 ships wrecked here within forty years. Its a haven for divers. When you see the coastline its understandable these ships never made it to port. We passed through Port Mc donnell where 31 of the wrecks are and then headed back inland to the Glynelg River National Park. Here we camped on the banks of the river which is absolutely beautiful. Very tranquil and peaceful, lots of blue wrens, platypus, possoms but still no Fish! We spent 2 days canoeing up and down the river stopping for picnics on the way, Very relaxing.

We are now in Warnambool staying with my 4th cousin, Barbara whom I haven't seen for 22 yrs. I have visted some places I haven't been to scince I was a kid. Things have changed alot. Last night we went to the Shipwreck Laser show at Flagstaff Hill which was awesome. It was the story of ship that sailed from London to Australia in 1878 and was wrecked on the coastline here near the 12 Apostles. Today we are off to Port Campbell where this to see where this happened.
