Old Town Square on Christmas night
It is finally winter in Praha. We had our first "big" snowstorm on saturday night, and we got about 3 inches at the most.
Prague looked amazing with a fresh coat of snow, but since all the sidewalks are made of stone, they dont plow them...or do anything to them actually. So all day Saturday and Monday, people were shuffling and sliding all over the place. Another example of "the Czech way" I guess.

Christmas in Prague was really good although, there was no snow, and it wasn't even that cold, so it didn't really feel like Christmas. I went to the National Theater to see.....a ballet. I was hesitant at first, but for 30kc, I couldn't say no. And in case you were wondering, 30kc is the same price as a coffee. Yes, our tickets were "standing room only" but for about $1.50 we got in on Christmas night.

I had two weeks off from teaching which was amazing and now all of my classes are going really well. It took a while to get to know my students, but now it is really easy to talk with them.

I also found a new flat near the

at the ballet...our seats were as high as they get. but very cheap.
center, which is making my Prague experience 90x better. I am back in the same neighborhood that I was in when I first got here in September and I like it here a lot. I am about 100m from the river which is good for running. And the Staropramen brewery is in my "backyard." It took me 4 months, but I am loving Prague.

Moving

Moving to a new flat in Prague is quite the process...luckily I had Eric help me drag all my stuff onto the 139 Bus, onto The Metro C, to I.P. Pavlova to wait for a tram, put the stuff on the 6 Tram, unloaded everything at Andel and then carried it to my new flat. I am not moving again...

coming to prague
hey, my name is jessica and my friend and I plan on coming to Prague in the summer. Its always been his dream to go to Prague and I just want to go abroad so I'm going with it,but I have been reading a lot of negative things about it on the internet. People say its not all its cracked up to be. I'm hoping they just didn't know where to go or what to see. Do you have any advice on what to do and what to avoid? Thank you so much for any advice you may have!
