Petrona Towers at Night
Its better to see these at night. Kuala Lumpur (KL) was our base for getting to and from Borneo. We decided to check it out for a few days and meet up with a another friend whi I met at the 'Eastman'. We stayed in a guesthouse (called 'number eight') which is budget accomodation but it was actually really modern and quite original. We did the usual stuff in KL like going around the shopping malls. We then went to the KL bird park, which apperently has the biggest in-flight aviary in the world. We even got to see some hornbills here as we didn't see many in Borneo.
We also had to do the Petronas towers which are really impressive buildings. Especially at night as they stay lighted up and when your looking up you can see lots of bats flying around them hunting the moths that are attracted to the lights. We met up with Siew Tin and her family who took us out for a really lovely Chinese meal. They also took us to this huge complex called Suncity which has a 5 star hotel a water park and a shopping complex. After our stay in KL I actually wish we'd had more time as
Too cute to not put on here
These were some ducklings from the KL bird park i would have like to have gone to Malacca and Sarawak and gone back to the water park at Suncity. But I'm only 28, i'll pop back at some time.
The only gripe I have about KL is the Taxi drivers, for every honest one there is a dishonest one. More than once we had to get out or walk off because they try and charge ridiculous money and switch on the meter. The worst sting is these coupon rigs at attractions where your a bit far from a main area and your meant to buy a coupon at the taxi rank but they seem to just make up the fare and its always twice as much as what you payed to get there.
