Well here we are in Goa - 60 seconds to get to the beach - hot sun, warm water (it really is at blood temperature) long sandy beach palm trees.......oh and little shacks where you can get drinks and food (even chip butties Carols favorite!). So we are really chilling out - New Years Eve was a blast - had dinner outside by the pool then wandered down to the beach - loads of fireworks and still around 25 degrees. We then walked back home on the beach whilst watching the little crabs running down into the water!

It really is ace here and cheap food and drink.

I hesitate to use the word idyllic but it gets very close.

A very happy 2008 to everyone and hope it brings you everything that you could wish for.

A final note - we have had as at today 1298 hits on the travelblog so particular good wishes to you all!!!!

Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you both. The sun is clearly getting to you Ian - how can you use the word idyllic without reference to the UK on a wet/snowy/cold/windy/dark early January evening when the post-Christmas blues are kicking in, the scales say that you need to lose 2 stone and there is nothing on TV/at the theatre/at the cinema etc. ;-) Carol - chip butties - my favourite too!
