Edit Blog Post

Here’s something rather startling.

I can track the hit rate of each of my blogs. Not who reads them, just that the page has been ‘viewed’. On average I get about 100 hits per blog and I pick up a few each day - - so some older blogs are up around 140 and some recent ones are still at like 50.

But I noticed that my entry on the IKEA bus driver had a crazy high hit rate. It’s currently close to 800 hits and growing faster than any others. I couldn't figure it out at first. But then I had an idea and ran a quick experiment.

If you just moved, or you hate your furniture and you want to find a place to buy some ‘good cheap furniture’ what do you go? Well, you Google those words of course. Guess what the number one page is when you do!? Not some overstock store, not some furniture warehouse, and not, ironically, IKEA. But my blog on the bus driver!

To all you people who were just looking for some couches and chairs, maybe an ottoman, sorry to disappoint. We have hardly any furniture at all. But we do have fun and you’re welcome to read all about it.

Congratulations, you're famous
I too ran the experiment and found your result was number one. That's amazing. You should take a picture of that and hang it up next to your diploma as one of your great achievements in life. Just think, I actually know someone who is number 1 in a Google search... amazing!

I've been doing all sorts of things trying to get my school's web site to pop up near the top of Google with only the most modest success. Without even trying you have hit the jackpot. When I repeated your test, you not only came out on top, but you were the first of 6,680,000 hits that Google found. I agree with Noah. Take a picture. Congratualtions for hitting the big time!
