Woke up this morning to the sound of the first train pulling up at the station. It wasn’t that bad but I am a light sleeper.
Breakfast is not included in the price and had to pay $5.50 for two pieces of toast, a bowl of cereal, a cup of coffee and a glass of orange juice. It was raining pretty heavily in the morning so I didn't go out until 11am.
First stop was The Rocks near the Sydney Harbour. It was the site where the first mariners stepped ashore and established British settlement in 1788. It’s a very historic part of Sydney with lots of colonial buildings. You could also find the Dawes Point Battery underneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The battery was demolished in 1925 when the Harbour Bridge was built, but excavation has uncovered some remains. ‘Nuff of history lessons!
Then I walked to the Darling Harbour which is not that far away. Lots of food courts & places to eat. Bars, restaurants & cafes, almost all are al frescos. The weather started to be really sunny, had a cup
The Rocks
Harbour Bridge from the Rocks of coffee before I headed off to the Maritime Museum. Admission is free and quite good if you are into Australian naval & maritime history.

Never went to the maritime museum or spent much time at Darling harbour. Think the aquarium is based there though and I went early evening and it was very dark (night time) not the aquarium I mean. Railway carriage looks fun. They are real carriages too! More pics of the bridge please and also you need one from mrs macquaries chair. You need to find it!!! head round the botanical gardens - long walk round to the viewing point. You can get a pic of both the opera house ANd the bridge then.
