Flight to Lima
We travelled from Puno to Juliaca on a coach transfer that was waiting around for some Americans for ages, so much we worried we would miss our flight! We need not have worried as our flight was delayed and we hung around the tiny airport watching mini-sandstorms skitter across the runway. To our horror the French family from hell (from the train) turned up and acknowleding us, sat right opposite us in the departure lounge. The mum was still as miserable as ever but the kids amused us by knocking each other's heads with an empty water bottle. Eventually our flight arrived and we boarded and headed off for Lima. It was still very windy and the plane tussled with the air on take-off. We touched down in Arequipa to collect more passengers and arrived in Lima later that evening. Amazingly we made it to the hotel despite the best efforts of our taxi driver to kill us with his erratic driving! We checked into the Kamana and asked for a nice room and they upgraded us to a room with a front window and a massive bed. Hurrah! We went out for nosh and admired the beautiful lights in the Plaza de Armas. Lima had suddenly gone very Christmassy with lights across the streets and shops and a huge inflatable Santa, which looked like something out of Gotham city.

The next day we did the last of our Christmas shopping around the shops and markets of Lima and then went over to Miraflores in the evening. We ate at Rustica bar, a kind gesture on Rach's part because all the waitresses were clad in skintight denim catsuits. Then we went to the Helado Parlour for yummy icecreams. They made such fantastic icecream creations it was too tempting to say no!

Our last full day in Lima
We finished our shopping and went to Miraflores again so Jase could go to Gold's Gym! Rach mooched around the Hello Kitty shop but everything was ridiculously expensive (by Peruvian standards!) so she didn't indulge. We went for dinner in the area and found a place that sold buffalo wings - hurrah! Then we headed back to the Plaza de Armas and Plaza San Martin to enjoy the Christmas lights and Nativity scene.

Sad! It's our very last day of the trip!
Can't believe it's our last day of our Round the World trip! Fittingly we met Ricardo and Margarita for lunch on Pizza Street in Miraflores and went for more magnificent icecreams. It was nice to see them both again and say farewell, as Ricardo was heading for the UK on an earlier flight than us and Margarita would be going to Brazil soon. Then we headed back to the hotel to collect our gear in anticipation of our flight home.
