Greetings from the former pirates of the Tocorime!
We have just returned from a 7 days sailing trip on the Tocorime Tall Ship. We spent a week living, sailing and playing off the coast of Brazil between Rio de Janeiro and Paraty. It was an increadible experience! Day 1 we spent getting acclimatized to the natural rocking motion of the boat (~50% got sick), and now that we are finished and back on land, we find it is taking longer to get acclimatized to living on land, as we still catch ourselves swaying.
On our adventure, we had 16 passengers and a crew of 7, so it was a busy boat. We spent our days jumping off the boat, swimming, snorkeling, hiking, laying on deserted beaches, body surfing, looking at dolphins, whales, turtles, relaxing in hammocks, and of course learning how to sail. We also had the opportunity to board an 8 million dollar yacht! This millionaire guy came up to our ship on his seadoo, and offered to have his "boat master" pick us up so that we could board his yacht! This yacht was far better that anything we have ever seen on tv, I just don't
think any description could do it justice. It had 2, 1300 horsepower motors, and burned 400L per hour when running at full tilt. You can do the math as to how much it would cost to run this thing for a week! Talk about carbon footprint!
Anyways, enough talk, here are some pics of what we did last week!
