First off, thanks for the messages. I like to hear whats going on back home. We got the Patriots game last night, although it was Mexican announcers instead of John Madden (which come to think of it might not be such a bad thing, and probably just as difficult to understand).

I began classes today, from 9-12. Im VERY happy that I didnt add the optional two conversational hours from 12-2, because three hours of a language you cant understand is more than enough each day. I've met lots of interesting people at my school as well. The classes are limited to five people each, and my class has a Dutchman, a German, and a Swedish guy. They are a bit more in the class mode as some of them are learning Spanish for their jobs. One is a grad student, one a lawyer, and one an electrical engineer - so Im the dumb one by far.

The school is very nice, with wireless internet and outdoor classes. They have several free classes throughout the week which I may take if I have time. Salsa and cooking are two of them, and Id really like to attempt to cook - someone has to when you date Ciara : )

Saturday was the last night for the 5 guys from Holland at our hostel, so we went out for that occasion. We went to several of our regular places, and also stopped at Blue Parrot for their midnight fire show - it was amazing. I got some good pics and video of that. We've also learned that the trick for going out is to go up, ask cover, act like you are going to leave, and then they will lower the price, usually completely free.

It was our earliest night (4am though) because everyone was tired from going out all week. Im reeeally looking forward to a break from that. My friend Matt is headed back to Britain today, and Brian from Minnesota is heading for South America tomorrow, so the original group will be broken up (sad, but good for my liver and wallet).

I have a feeling that when I get back my tan might not even be that good, because I have found that the time that I am in school is the hottest part of the day, and in the afternoon it gets cloudy and sometimes rains. The place is beautiful though, and if I can find a cheap USB cable (I forgot mine and they arent cheap here) I think I should be able to upload pics soon, but thats a longshot. Im headed to the local Walmart to check that out soon. I really havent taken many pictures, because when you are here for an extended stay it begins to feel local quickly.

Keep me updated on things from home, Im headed to buy a torta and hit the playa (beach, gringos).

Hey from Dad
Hi Nick, It sounds like you are having a great time! I liked the pictures you sent. There were some great college games on last night. I am trying to get rid of some of the ice left in the driveway from the rain we had Saturday. Things did not get as bad as they said they would but that is nothing new. I hope you have a good week. I look forward to hearing from you again. Love, Dad
