Our Road in Singapore
Bit different from Farwells Close isn't it! We live in (Our Hostel) the green building to the left. We even get a wake up and dinner time call when the Mosque calls prayer. Wow it's warm!
Apparently it is winter here but as we are only a couple of hundred Km from the equator, not sure "winter" makes a blind bit of difference!
Been here for four days now. Singapore seems to be a city of contrast, demonstrated best yesterday. We ate out and two meals cost us less than two pounds (brilliant!) but then went for a drink in Raffles Hotel and two drinks cost us 15 pounds!!!! Was worth it though. Lisa had a Singapore Sling and I had a Tiger beer.
Last night we went on the Night Safari at Singapore Zoo. It was really cool -saw lots of different animals, many of them nocturnal.
The Hostel ('Sleepy Sams' Paul if you need a place to stay in Singapore $25 pppn) we are stopping in is interesting. We sleep in a dorm with 15 other people. Quite a cool little place though. It doubles up as a Cafe downstairs. Breakfast is great lots of fresh fruit, toast and the best tea I have had since we have been travelling. Location is really nice and the staff are really friendly.

Places to see
Not sure whether you are still in Singapore but a couple of places worth trying to find. On Clarke Quay - Brewekz where they brew their own beer and you can buy a taster set of all the beers, well worth doing! Also, Anywhere Bar, at the top of a shoppping block, i think just off Orchard Road, but it plays the best live music i have heard in years! Enjoy, love Jancis x
