Hi again all!
Well its my last day in la... on to fiji tonight, cant wait, la has been erm... an experience! My hostel is on hollywood boulevard and the walk of fame, across from the kodak theatre (where they hold the oscars) oh yeh... dont settle for any old place me ; ) if i had to describe hollywood, well i dont think i could... believe it or not its kinda like a movie set! you can walk down hollywood boulevard and feel like youre in the ghetto (which youre not... i didnt visit there thankfully!) or walk back up and feel like youre in disney land, every other person is dressed up in some outrageous costume or doing some crazy stunt. Oh and its true what they say... amount of people with their faces a bit... too... tight to be natural is unreal!
Got here on wednesday and went on a movie stars homes tour which was cool... drove through this one street full of vacant houses which are just rented out for filming, sleepy hollow and father of the bride were filmed there. Went up into west hollywood, beverley hills and bel aire, made me v jealous checking
dad... youre famous!dad... youre famous!dad... youre famous!

and you didnt even know it!
out all their houses... we saw the beckhams, madonnas, will smith and jada pinketts, the osbournes gaff and marylin monroes plus more! didnt see any celebrities although i had my beady eye out for them... the tour guide nearly had an orgasm when she saw nicholas cage drive past us, we all missed him though : ( Decided i would go down to venice beach that afternoon so with help from a 'nice' man in the tube station got on the tube and got off where he had told me to get the bus, waiting at the bus stop and a police man came over and told me to get back on the tube and go back the way i came, apparently it wasnt a safe place to be waiting on my own and i was at completely the wrong side of town for the beach anyway (so maybe i did visit the hood - oops!) dont worry mum im still in one piece and wont take advice from random strangers again!
The next day i hopped on a hop on/hop off bus to see the sights, went to rodeo drive which is gorgeous, the shops are amazing, thought id treat myself to a coffee in lindsay lohans favourite cake shop! walked past the beverley wiltshire hotel where pretty woman was filmed, drove along route 66 and sunset strip (which apparently is the hip place for the celebs to hang out) saw the viper room (a rock club owned by johnny depp - he rocks there himself when hes in town!). That afternoon just had a wander round the kodak etc, went in graumans chinese theatre which is gorgeous (the one with the hands and footprints outside). That night met some people in the hostel, a few were on their way home and a couple on their way out to fiji like me... went down to sunset strip for tea and a couple of drinks with them.
The next day went down to venice beach (succesfully this time) it was cool, loads of funky clothes shops and tattoo parlours, along with the famous muscle beach ha... there was this old black guy who was obviously a regular, he must have been about 80 and was dressed in leopard print speedos and big gold jewellery (like mr t) he didnt have a bad body for his age though ; ) well he was proud of it anyway! stood there watching them working out for a bit but then felt like a bit of a perv so cut that short ; ). Hired a bike and rode along venice and up to santa monica beach, theres some lovely houses along the front there.
Today been to see the hollywood max factor museum, the wax museum and did a tour of hollywood boulevard, saw the hollywood sign! Got approached by some tramp who reckoned he was a hair stylist in beverley hills and decideded to give me the honour of having his number... nice!
So thats la done, i think its somewhere youve got to come at least once in your life because you definately have to see it to believe it x x x
