We hopped back on the bus and began to make our way down the west coast, it normally has really high rainfall but we were really lucky, the sun shined the whole time. We stopped at Greymouth that night where we did a brewery tour, i cant say i was blown away by the tour but we got to try out the beers for free at the end so it was all good ; ) had a bbq and a few drinks that night. Continued to follow the coast down towards Franz Joseph where we would stop the night... this journey started to uncover the landscape youd expect of NZ... it just gets more and more dramatic as you head further south, rugged cliffs, forrests, mountains and clear blue lakes. We stopped at a goldmining town ... read more

Hi again all! Thought i would update you with my travels to new zealand. Started off in christchurch, the weather was lovely and the city is very english! felt like i was back home, just had a wander round the city and through the gardens along the river. Picked up the magic bus the next day, heading up the east coast to kaikoura, the coastline is very wild and rugged and the town was really cute, reminded me of the towns along the great ocean road, little cafes and surf shops. Me and a couple of the girls had decided to do the dolphin swim so peeled on our wetsuits and jumped on the boats to do some dusky dolphin spotting, couldnt believe how many of them there were! they were everywhere! we put on our ... read more

Well what can i say about fiji... in a word... stunning! Got into nadi on the first day and got picked up by the feejee experience bus... there were about 15 of us on the bus and they took us all to natadola beach, a white sandy beach where we swam, sunbathed and had a bbq... the local village boys were down there with their horses hiring them out for rides, so i hopped on one called sweety and had a gallop up the beach... it was lovely. After that we went to a traditional fijian village called malo malo... it was custom that we wore a sarong and had our shoulders covered. Our guide 'miriam' taught us some fijian words before we got there so that we could greet the villagers (hello, goodbye and thankyou ... read more

Hi again all! Well its my last day in la... on to fiji tonight, cant wait, la has been erm... an experience! My hostel is on hollywood boulevard and the walk of fame, across from the kodak theatre (where they hold the oscars) oh yeh... dont settle for any old place me ; ) if i had to describe hollywood, well i dont think i could... believe it or not its kinda like a movie set! you can walk down hollywood boulevard and feel like youre in the ghetto (which youre not... i didnt visit there thankfully!) or walk back up and feel like youre in disney land, every other person is dressed up in some outrageous costume or doing some crazy stunt. Oh and its true what they say... amount of people with their faces ... read more

Hi everyone... well finally arrived in nyc on sunday and it turned out to be just how i imagined, didnt prepair myself for how friendly everyone over here is though! couldnt believe it... people actually say hi to you walking down the street and ask you how your days going... weird! got the bus into the city from the airport but could only get it as far as grand central station so got off there and was met by a guy with a mini bus offering me a free lift to the hostel! thought it sounded a bit dodgy at first but he was the airport shuffle, he said he only normally goes as far as 59th st but he would take me up to 103rd this once which was nice... there was only me on ... read more
