Hi everyone
Just a short blog to let you all know that we have arrived safely in Quito. We had a long day getting here. 3 flights (again). Cuidad Guyana to Caracus, 2 hours delay there, then onto Bogota in Columbia for an hour or so & then finally into Quito. We are staying in a lovely hostel called ´Chicago´which is really nice & clean. Its really cheap too. 15$ per room per night. In fact everything here is so cheap. We had a set lunch yesterday which consisted of soup, main course of a meat or fish with rice & beans, a cake & cold drink for 2$.
The old town where we are staying has a really good feel about it & the new town has some really good bars & restaurants. Its not as hot here which is quite a relief, but gets cold at night.
We have booked a trip to the Amazon jungle starting on the 2nd November for 5 days. Sounds amazing & for my birthday we have booked a day trip to Cotopaxi. ( a mountain where we get a lift to near the top & cycle down). We will then make our way down south through Ecuador with lots planned along the way & then finally the Galapagos Islands for 8 days on the 22nd November. We leave for Lima in Peru on the 1st December.
No photos this time. sorry, may get chance to upload some another time. Thats it for the moment. Needless to say that we are missing you all but having a wonderful time x
