At first, the singers are introduced to the audience
Lots of students cheering on their favourites, this is awesome Wow, let's talk now about the song contests organised at university...
I am glad that you have watched the video of my song in one of my entries, thus I scarcely need to point out that I haven't sung in public since, needless to say they haven't asked me either, oops... So, no comments about the reasons why they haven't invited me to perform again, you see, I read in my horoscope again that one of the features of leo is that we're good at almost everything we do. That 'almost' may include things like singing... sorry, I can't think of anything else, and this is not out of modesty. :-)
However, I've had the chance to meet some outstanding singers at uni: my students are great. Throughout the year, they hold different song contests and then you see that many of the shy students we have in class are actually professional when it comes to acting. I envy them, they have such nice voices and although I don't have a clue about the lyrics of their songs, you can easily see how much they enjoy doing it and how much joy they bring to their classmates.
Chapeau!!!
Throughout these three years they have been able to put on such an outstanding show, they are highly organised and meticulously put lots of attention to every little detail; they always have hostesses indicating where everybody should sit. There will always be two guys in charge of the sound and the images they display on the screen. Two or three students will be running throughout the whole show making sure that the students announced on the microphone are there and at the right time. Other than that, they have 10 students adding the scores of the judges after every song.... I could continue telling you about all this and you'll be most amazed by the way these students organise everything. You know what I am thinking of right now? The 2008 Olympics, I am telling ya, everything will be perfect, stick around for these Chinese ARE READY AND WILL PUT ON THEIR BEST SHOW EVER.
Now, I am going to briefly describe the last karaoke competition which took place one month ago:
I just arrived from the annual karaoke competition organised by students, normally, they have a group of 15 students competing,
obviously, all the songs in Chinese; I was there, but thought the contest was getting less popular among teachers, I found myself being the only foreign teacher there and spotted merely 4 Chinese English teachers. Or it is probably the fact that they run it on a Sunday evening and everybody is working on their lessons. I stayed there till they said there would be a second round, which was too much for me to take, so I thought I'd better head home and finish my lesson preparation instead.
Message for my fans :-)
Voila, do not worry if I haven't included myself doing karaoke, as you can imagine, I have some pictures and will eventually write a new entry on that. Do not worry, my fans!!! In the meantime, enjoy the photos.
