The famous inverted pyramid!

Big day today! Grabbed a baguette and hopped on the metro to the Louvre. Wow! I'm not much of an art buff, but I was so amazed by how beautiful the art was, I could barely speak. I can't believe how large some of the paintings are - probably as tall as a one-story building. The Mona Lisa was absolutely beautiful! All of the things people say about how dissappointing she is are totally untrue. Sculptures were wonderful as well as the Greek, Roman, and Egyptian art and artifacts.

After the Louvre it was raining so we headed back to the hotel for coats and umbrellas and ate lunch at a cafe called Hippopatomus. Excellent service and a great chef salad. Had some french fries and (my fave) a Coca-Cola Light. Very yummy! Hopped back on the metro and headed to Tiffany's to buy each other wedding gifts.

Place de la Concorde was awesome - and the rain stopped, so we did some shopping on the Champs Elysees before cimbling up yet another spiral staircase to the top of the Arch de Triomphe. Views are spectacular up there - especially of the Eiffel Tower.

Wish other tourists could take a centered picture...lol.

Headed back to the Louvre because we forgot to hit up the gift shop. Then came back here and had a great Italian meal at a small place - I had 4 cheese rigatoni and some great Italian wine.

Tomorrow we hop on the RER and head out to Versailles!
