Phuket

Alas! the first place that we had hit that is out of season was actually out of season and there was no one there.

Pucket is the place to go when its quiet, why because every inch of sand is diserted and the whole beach is yours.. NUTs!

However my feelings of this sharply changed when i found on this wonderfull beach, a syringe, an IV and a good old (intact) standard light blub.
There is only one thing you can do to get over this kind of tragic discovery, and that is to smash up loads of coconuts.
Firstly beacause its fun, secondly beacause its food and finally beacause its makes you fell like a spartan.

One of the many things to do there is visit the island where leonardo dicaprio got lost in the film 'the beach'
However i discovered it was clearly lies that he got ' lost' there beacause when i went there were hundreds of people and plently of transport goin under the name of 'im a massive speed boat with 4 or 5 200hp engines and every fish in sight will discover the wrath of my propeller'
i love these boats but they aint to eco freindly.


Here in the thailand every bar you walk past will have someone say 'welcoooooooooooooooooooooooooooome' or misssssssssssssssssssstoorrrrrrrrrr' which is there way of saying come in and buy a drink.

However the greatest moment of my life was when we walked past and bar and a thai women said in one go with no pauses, stops or anything... 'hello welcome good night have a good day tomorrow'
Of course i was confused but laughed and spent the rest of the week perfecting my impression of this statement with a rather good female thai accent.


Have i already mentioned dogs so far on this trip, not really sure but they dont look too freindly and i have found the worst most anrgy ones here in phuket, but i will learn to conquer them.


After all this comotion a sunny trip to Phi Phi island was in order and this is where i learnt to get best view of the fish.

You can do some pretty shallow snorkelling over sand and see 'Nemo' like fish in great numbers.
Everyone gets Loafs of bread that are handed around and you throw it in and you get hundereds at you knees.
This is not how you do it and i have perfected a way..

Step one - open the loaf and have half of it because your hungry and its very nice, a bit sweet you might say.
Step two - Put a slice in your mouth and submerge yourselve underwater and chew violently - bet ya a loaf of bread you will see more than everyone else.


The Eagles are a good band and here they are a very good because every bar seems to have a DVD of them including a taxi we got.. strange
